I have a CF hurricane that currently has the stock plastic head on it. I also have a full metal gaui head but I would raher crash the plastic head before I go with the metal one. I have the Gaui 75amp esc with gaui 1100kv motor and 13t pinion on stock gearing. In normal mode i am flying with my throttle curve at 75% and getting 2000rpm headspeed. Is it safe to go higher like say 80-85% with the plastic head? I have read that the motor is much less efficient below 85% is why i want to speed things up. Please let me know as I am new to heli's and don't wanna break anything or injure anyone.

Some are taking the plastic head to 2100... all seems good.
Can I suggest swapping out to your metal head? Since the metal head can take a crash much better than your plastic one... unless you bring it down on top of the head on asphalt or concrete... you have a very slim chance of damaging it in a crash.
You can be running your motor at the 80% or better efficentcy factor no worries... and bump up the HS with no worries. Running your motor/ esc more efficently should also gain you a slight improvement in flight times on your batteries or some extra HS with close to the same run times.

Or you could change your pinion. Here in Austria most of the people running 2x 3s are using 12T pinion. I read one should not use the plastic grips for too much above 2000... and of course no woodies :)

Where do you by a 12 or a 13 tooth pinion from? I presume it is from another model line.

It's a steel pinion from an Quick... you need I think a 0,7 module. You could take it from other Helis too... Quick also has 11 and 10. My Hurricane dealer has Quick too and it's his recommendation for 6s and 1,5kW Gaui engine... Logs done by another guy showed that this is a good solution for this setup.
There was another thread where someone posted which pinion is equal... but I can't find it right now :(
