GY- 401 Metal Face plate

Hello everyone. So I have a GY401 that got punched in the face by a flybar and I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get one. I all ready got the plastic case but the metal plate that goes on top got bent pretty good.

All my other gyros are mounted underneath on my other birds, and I thought about moving its location the night before I crashed but I did not get around to it... Irony. So can anyone help me out? Where can I get one of these?

Gyro will work fine without the metal plate. GY gyros were being used for over a year before the metal plate was released. The metal plate was just for when the gyro is being mounted directly to a carbon fiber surface. I use the GY 601 and the sensor is mounted directly to a carbon fiber plate. I have not used the metal plate for a few years now.

No, I am not talking about the mounting plate. I am talking about the actually little metal face plate that says Gy401 on it. The one that covers the little dial and switches on top of the gyro. I am so bumbed that I bent it.

i did the same thing with my 240 back in the fall. boom strike smacked off it's perch and it's got a crack going down the side and a bent up faceplate. i filled the crack with thick ca and basically hammered the face place flat and stuck it back on. it works fine.

I think thats what I am going to do unfortunately too... Does everyone just do that for them? I am glad I did not through it out all ready though.

I bought a complete GY401 case some odd years ago from the Futaba service center down here, not that expensive either! It was about $20 or something.

I found a source for the upper Case in Germany...

But I think if you search on Ebay or google you'll find other dealers!

maybe your lhs has some dead gyros you can cannabilize for the case?

heliproz.com actually has all the parts except for the face plate. I ended up just hammering mine flat. Looks fine now. Good luck everyone.
