Could someone reccomend a good carrying case for my Blade 400?
I was looking at the aluminum case they offer for the Trex 450se..i wonder if it will fit?
thanks!

The Align case for the 450 Trex DOES work.

Hmmm... I returned it to the store.
a) The DX6i doesn't seem to fit in it very well in the case - if at all.
b) The Blade seems longer than the T-Rex judging by the foam cut-outs. If I had to trim that much padding off, I wouldn't feel all that comfortable about the case protection anymore.
I've ordered a heli-tote for mine. It's not here yet, but I'll comment once I got it.

The amount of foam isn't strictly to protect the heli; it's as much to fill the case. Those cases aren't custom sized to the 450. They are a standard size, and so is the foam. The foam is just cut to fit the heli. You can even order replacement non-cut foam. I have lots of camera cases like that too.
The case I picked up cost $35. The heli shape is the same length, but the canopy is a different shape (the slope), and the cutout doesn't allow for the blade holders. The DX6i is only an issue because of the rear handle, which makes it stick up. But I got everything in there.

Where did you get your case from?

Looks like it's gone up $10.
The foam they show in the photo has been cut too; the stock foam won't fit bladed with a holder on them.

I have this one: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMNZ2&P=0
Originally bought for the cp pro but the B400 fits perfect in it standing upright, plenty of room for tx and batteries and some field tools.
At first I was reluctant to buy (thought is was more of a duffle bag) but all sides are hard.

The Heli-Tote (Wing-Tote) is great. I took out the bottom foam and I can fit (2) Trex 450's inside and my radio in the outside pocket. Makes travel to the field much easier. If I only take one Trex, then I use the Align case.

I modified the box it came in... works fine with the blade holder attached to the tail boom, and blades folded back. I have a seperate case for my remote.

I wasn't sure about getting a Align case, because the DX6 didn't seem to fit, but I had the chance to try it at my local store and I could make the tx fit, turning it 180 clockwise. Did a litle bit of trimming on the foam and it turned out great, I'm very happy with it.

Do you know what the trainer switch does on the DX6i controler?

Also, if you have a buddy that knows how to fly and has a Tx with the feature, you can connect two Tx's. The experienced pilot can take off holding his switch, then release it and pass control to the other Tx. If the "trainee" gets scared, he can pull the switch again and take back control. I flew a plane for the first time a few weeks back like that. Was very cool.
