Ok so I have a Logitech 2100 and a Futaba S9650 tail servo combo. I am running a 12t on the new align 3700Kv in my new Trex450 Se V2 The helicopter flies really well but I am having a little problem with dialing the tail in. My rudd travel trims are set for 120% on my dx7 and for my gear adjustment I have head hold at like 58%. In rate mode its at like 63% and it does not wag. In head hold the wag is very minuet, and only happens when I decrease throttle and I get a little burp, or when I turn the helicopter a little bit in a hover.

I am afraid that I am going to turn the tail gain down so much that the head hold is going to turn off. It deactivates hh at like 51% I think it said on mine when I tested it. Is it ok to run the gain in the 50-60 percentile? Does that seem kind of low? Also, I was flying it when it was pretty darn cold out. Probably in the teens... Would that affect the gyro a lot? I I thought I read that somewhere. I used the advice that RC Heli published (letting the bird adjust to the cold for like 10 minutes out side and keep an eye on the tail belt to see If it need be adjusted.)

Can anyone give me some incite on this? I have a gy401 on an old trexsa and I just recently am trying out the logitech 2100 so its a little alien to me. I do like it a lot though. I think that it being so small, digital, and all the little programming functions/features are remarkable. I just do not fully know everything about it.... yet =D

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i believe you can run higher gain with no wag, if you use a smaller servo horn. basically the closer you mount your tail linkage wire to the servo output shaft, the higher you can run your gain. same is true for the opposite. if you find your running your gain pretty high to get good results, mount the tail link further from the servo output shaft.

I am using the circular one that the S9650 came with all ready on it. I thought that was the one that every one used?

You can just drill a hole closer to the output shaft on the wheel.

not sure on the 9650. i'm using the 401 with the 9254, and the wheel that came on it was pretty small. probly less then an inch diameter and i could not get full throw with it. changed to a star horn, and running on the 3rd hole out. my limit is around 95.

Thanks for that. I was actually looking at that and I noticed I was not getting full through either. Everyone said that was the little circular one was the one to use with the trex too... I will have to try the little star one when I get the chance.

What is your travel adjustment pot on the GY 401 set to? You can turn that pot and it increases or decreases the travel range of the servo.

I actually have a Logitech 2100. I put the star servo horn on it so now I get the range of motion necessary. I am going to have to readjust everything the next time I get to fly. It has just been too cold lately for my liking. I think that my tail belt might be too loose though now that I look at it. Isn't it suppose to be set so that it can sway like 3/4 to the other side? That is what it says in the V2 manual anyways.
