Hello
I do not know much about this transmitter so could any of you tell me why they don't like it? People have said they wouldn't use it for their heli, why? Thanks and sorry if this was a bad question.

I see a good number of 6EX's being used at events.
But the questions you ask are difficult to answer. First what do you expect from a transmitter? What is your experience in the hobby? How much experience do you have with transmitters?

Well I just got a Lama V3 for christmas and I am getting Phoenix this week. I am planning on upgrading to a better heli for my birthday, which is in 5 months, and i see that the heli I am looking at (Copter X) also comes RTF. With the RTF kit it comes with the 6EX transmitter.

So I am guessing that you have never flown an RC heli ?
I am not familiar with a Lama V3.

Well this co-axial is easy to me and all I am wondering is if the 6EX will be good with the copterX. Because I plan on getting it in the future.

What transmitter are you using now?

Some disadvantages with that TX, are: no subtrims for setting servo center, no built in timer ( to keep track of battery power), and throttle hold uses normal pitch curve (doesn't have a dedicated pitch curve). If you can live without those, it's a good TX.

It will work, but there are much better 6 ch radios out there. I like the Hitec Optic 6 (NOT Sport) better than the 6EX for helis.
And if you are starting from scratch, 2.4 GHz makes a LOT of sense. DX6i is pretty cheap and later you can switch to a DX7 and use the same Rxes.
