is the JR X9303 backward compatible with the lower 6000 class Spektrum receviers? The info on the Tx is that its compatible with the AR9000, AR7000 series but cant find any print stating they will work with the AR6000

I'm getting a set TX and RX only, but for my 2x450's, i plan on using the AR 6000 as i cant fly them more than 200-300 meters away anyway. So a AR6000 should be more than enough.

I was thinking of a AR6100 Rx but heard that they had low voltage/reboot problems.

Appreciate your opinions on the above. Thanks.

From JR site:

Add Spektrum’s patent-pending DSM/DSM2 protocols––plus the brand’s DuaLink™ feature––and the result has been revolutionary. It’s proven 2.4GHz technology that JR is proud to adopt––technology that’s been used with unprecedented success by thousands of RCers since 2005.

AR6000s are DSM.

DSM/DSM2 Compatible

From maunal (available online):

Note: The X9303 2.4 is compatible with all current Spektrum DSM aircraft receivers including:
AR6000 6-channel parkflyer receiver
AR6100 6-channel 3.5-gram parkflyer receiver
AR6200 6-channel full-range receiver
AR7000 7-channel full-range receiver
AR9000 9-channel full-range receiver
Important: When using the X9303 2.4 with parkflyer receivers (the AR6000 and AR6100), it’s imperative that these
receivers only be flown in parkflyer-type aircraft (small electric airplanes or mini and micro helicopters). Flying
receivers designed for parkflyers in larger aircraft could cause loss of control.

Hi Pinecone, thanks. that should work for the 450's. I had wondered cause no one seems to be using the 6000. Most seem to be on the 7000 or 9000 rx versions.

Much appreciated...

Older protocol, slower, more expensive than 6100s.

Thanks Pinecone.. great help all the time form you. They seem tobe the cheapest though. 45 USD per rx. but if its slower, will get the 6200. 6100's seem to have far to many low voltage issues based on threads.

AR6100s at Todd's Models are $40. AR7000s are $76.

Similar price at Light Flight RC, and free shipping over $75, for the US.

Great... let me check lightflight and todds.

but the 6100? I dont understand it very much, but there seems to be an awful lot of issues (low voltage) with the 6100 based on user feedback in this forum.... 6200's seem safer to user or even the 6000 although its only DSM.

Actually the problems are will ALL DSM2 Rxes. Jsut more people fly 6100s.

You need to make sure you have a decent power source. My testing shows all my Rxes work down to around 3 volts, so any low voltage issues are NOT the Rx, but the power supply.

IMO, there may be some Rxes out there that require a higher voltage to operate, but nobody has volunteered one that has rebooted in flight to be tested (it will be returned).

Thanks Pinecone. I run a separate BEC on all my helis. just assurance and i run PCM rx's at the moment.... and i still get shot down.

I was doing flyouts with the V1 450 this morning, has a r146ip on it. about 300 meters away it goes into failsafe. Boom strike. Boom, mainshaft, and i need a new casing for the 9257 :D coulda been worse. the last one burned up a 9650.....
