Funny thing we were just comparing the two today at my LHS. One of the guys there said several parts were interchangeable between the Trex 450 and the Blade 400. I've seen where guys are changing out the servos, adding a gy401, but this is the first tail. Guess the guy at the hobby store was right! My question is WHY? If you want to upgrade w/ Align parts why not just buy the Trex? :arggg:

and it was for the better.
i was just poking around and found this post
i guess if people dont make cnc parts for us its an option

I installed a trex Tail set on mine because I broke the stock tail grip which is not available until Feb.

I also just ordered a TT Mini titan, but thats another story.

Did the trex tail fit without modification or new belt? I'm thinking of changing out my tail.

The one thing I dislike about the b400 is how close the tail is to the gnd. On my machine, the tail is about 1/8" above the gnd. I'm thinking of heating up my landing gear and reshaping the spans so that the tail is off the gnd. I've chipped so many tail blades. If I try lifting off one skid (enter hover without sliding sideways), my tail rotor strikes the ground. Other than mangling the tail blades, the b400 flies great.

yeah and with the trex blades on there its even closer to the ground.

I'll have to try it. I had one tail grip that was slightly loose. I thought it was the bearing but after replacement it made no change. I crazy glued one of the bearings into the blade grip and that worked:lol:. The other tail grip is solid.

I posted that thread, couldnt find the blade grips also and managed to visit the local shop and calipered the tail and it fits perfectly.

I have a Trex fiberglass canopy on my B400. Most of the Trex flyers think its a 'Trex', a few looked under the hood only to be surprised. :YeaBaby:

So the trex tail is a perfect fit? No belt length/tooth problems? What about the metal head? Any after market CNC heads fit the 400? personaly I'm waiting for the version (if it is ever gonna come out) without the tx/rx with it. I have a dx7 and dont wanna buy a new TX/RX.

The cnc tail is a perfect fit! It even helped balance with 2200 mah lipos. You need to replace the ball clevis to the Trex's from the tail servo link. I had to move the hole on the fin further out to mount it on the metal tail. Other than that, I have flown it without any problems. I didn't have to wait for parts, plus it looks good. However I would hate to break the tail cuz the parts are not as cheap as I am still learning or I should say learning to avoid crashes .

The swash plate on the Trex is different, but I calipered the main shaft thickness and its the same.

this is an interesting find it a swashplate for a trex 450 but ball config like the b400
