If you don't mind me asking..........or if you do dont reply .....but what did you have to pay for the kit??

$599.99, the same price that Horizon hobby sells it. The $1050 is in singapore dollars so that may actually be close to what we pay is USD, I'm not sure, I was only funnin. ;)

Those in Europe have been receiving their kits. Should be a matter of time before the U.S. gets them.

Yeah, a couple of people have completed theirs and have even flown them already! We should have them this week, I believe i read somewhere around the 12th. I'll post as soon as I get mine.
I'm gonna do a build thread too but I still need to buy the rest of the components to go with the bird. I'll place my order with Readyheli.com as soon as my kit comes in!

I'm definitely interested and will give it some time and maybe look into it this summer. I'd like to see them offer the parts to convert it to a belt.

I've never had a 50 with a torque tube or any model for that matter, but why convert to a belt drive? just keep some extra gears around. I understand that in a crash a TT may cost more to replace, but isnt the TT supposed to offer better performance? BTW, JR makes a Vibe50 in a belt drive kit too, they just chose to release the TT version first.

I'll keep an eye on it. Good luck with your build! I will be very interested in your build thread.

Wow, maybe not a slamming deal and probably available other places, but I picked up the V50 for my friend today at Hobbytown USA local. $535 so after tax he came out better than online ordering.
Im complete on the build except electronics and all I can say is this is one quality kit and man what an easy easy build. My only complaint is one missing long ball link.
Build Tip
When you get to the step where you snap the link from the mixing arms to the swash, do not snap them on from the outside as shown. Remove the ball and screw from the swash, insert the ball into the link from the outside (dont snap it on yet), screw the ball back in. Now the link is behind the ball but not snapped on. Use ball link pliers and snap the link on from the back.

Damn! I bought mine from Hobbytown USA and paid $599 not including tax. In the grand scheme of things thats not too big o deal when you look at the total dollars spent to complete the bird, but still thats 3 gals of fuel!

Awesome tip, Socal, thanks. I broke BOTH mixer links.
Aside from that, the build was awesome.

Thanks. Wish I would have posted soon enough to save your parts. I wonder how many have just cracked and the builder is not aware of it. Could end up being a disaster.

That's a good question, Socal. It doesn't take much pressure to crack one of those links. I, too, wonder how many are flying with broken links.
The good news is, Horizon has the links in stock.

Did you guys sized your links? I have a JR ball link sizer that I used maybe twice in the past but with the Vibe built I used it on every link and they snap on great with no problems.
It stated in the manual to use a JR ball link tool to size up the links.

I have that same tool and have sized every link with no probs at all. Works great on all the helis I've owned!

The problem with this paticular link is that it is being snapped on from the smaller side and thats when it might crack. Sizing with the ball link tool, if done from the large side, will not change the diameter of the hole on the other side and there is still a risk of it cracking. Even inserting the tool from the small side to size it you risk it cracking.
Im not saying it will. Mine did not crack. I sized from the large side and removed the ball and inserted it through the link as I stated in an earlier post.

I'm about half way through my build and am really liking this kit with the exception of the links. I guess I got spoiled using Rocket City links which I just ordered more of for my Vibe. The stock gray links seem brittle and the directional fitting is something I don't understand why they do, same with the 600N.
How did you guys line up the motor and clutch? I just eyeballed mine and it looks straight but I was wondering if there's a better way.

The links drove me nuts, very hard on the fingers and won't fit in my link tool. Most links, except rocket city, are directional so thats not unusal. These also let you squeeze the ears a bit if they are too loose.
To line up the motor/clutch install it loosely and turn the start shaft backwards with your fingers as you nip up all the bolts, if you feel resistence or binding back off that bolt and move to another one. It will take a few minutes but the alignment will be perfect when you're done.

Thanks for the tip Baracudaaaaa.
Besides the links is this not the sweetest heli you've ever built!!!!!!!!.. I come from the world of Raptors and Trex so maybe that has something to do with it. The Vibe 50 is simply awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
