What you do is adjust the clutchbell and pinion so the gear mesh is correct and 90 degrees to the main gear, then align the engine so it is aligned with the clutch bell by sliding it for and aft in the frames.

Who's gonna be the first to Maiden it?
Doing the canopy today, if I can sneak out I'll probably spin it up tomorrow. The electronics were done last night.

Here she is. Just flew a couple of tanks to check her out, engine is running rich and I was fighting the sun but it flys.

RIGHT ON!!!!! Very nice, What blades are those? Are they Heli Max? or SAB? Also any indication on how well it fly's?
EDIT I just noticed Heli Max have two stripes.....

Helimax!? :D

It flys ok. I just ran two tanks through it, the sun was low and in my eyes and I really didn't do much besides feel it out and take a few pictures. I'm headed out for some serious play in a few minutes.

Can anyone provide tooth count for main and pinion? Also it would be great if someone had a link to the peak power RPM range on the YS 50. My friend found a post that said 16800 to 17000 but I would like to confirm.
Thanks

ratio is 8.7
Many say the peak torque band for the YS is 17000 but nobody knows for sure (YS hasn't published the specs... maybe they don't know either).
Just FYI, I have a delrin helical RJX main gear and pinion in front of me which is a perfect fit in the vibe 50. I'm just waiting for an extra vibe clutch bell to arrive and I will test this new combo (8.5 helical) right away. Give me around a week and a half and I'll have some news :)

We have Ctimruns Vibe coming along really nice. We ended up running 1950 HS, which with this gear ratio put us at 17000 rpm on the YS. Still running rich but we found that this seems to be the sweet spot as far as RPM. We ran 2050 and I believe 2100 and it just seemed to lose punch. Someone on another site said that was due to it leaning out and to run richer but that has not been the case as we tried it at an even richer setting than where we are now and noted the same characteristics.

Hey all, got my Vibe 50 the other day and the build is awesome. I broke the Universal Ball Link while putting the flybar cage together (Page 28). I think I read that a few others did the same. What did you do to replace it? Order a new one, built one?
If I build them, what links are compatible with these JR balls?
I bought some 600n ball links and rods. Gonna see tonight if they fit or not.
Thanks

I have to say the JR links suck, their way to brittle and I don't understand why they, along with the Align links, have to go on only one way. Get yourself some rocket city links at Ron's, they fit perfect and go on each way so you don't have to get out the microscope to see which way they go on. You'll also have to get two link rods to replace the universal link, I used the align links and they work perfect.

I didnt have any problems with mine although I have heard that Rocket city links are by far the best you can buy. I was thinking about buying those and extra rods so I can make up a complete set of linksages for the heli to reduce ay down time I might have when I dork it!

I would look over you links very carefully for cracks/splits. One of mine had a crack and it was put on the right way, thank god someone at the field noticed it.
Maybe I'm spoiled with the Rocket City links, once you use them its hard to go back to anything else.
