Its great you got these finished before your break Bob. I am looking forward to hearing your views after flying it. I have an hour up on mine to date running 10s A123 and really like it.

Have a great holiday.

Bob, i just had a great laugh on the Kontronik setup video. Having a smoke, or did you manage to blow up your tail servo during filming??? Love the smoke effekt, it makes it all so myterious. Hope it wasn't anything illegal ;)

Not the first time we've seen smoke curling across the video :) - BTW excellent video on the 9303 (DSX9 in Oz) - I was puzzling over why I couldn't get the GOV and GYR configured from the Tx - Bob's great exposition on the Dev Sel menu solved that :noteworthy - a real gem to good to hide away just in T500 land so I've posted it in Techno Central in T600 land too !

Great vids Bob! :cheers

I would like to find out more about your power setup. We know what ESC and pinion (16T) you're running. Also know it's a Hacker motor, but which one? Also, what battery will you run in it?

Bob, great vids - thanks for build series,

I had already built my 5003D before your video's came out - but went back and watched them all. As usual, I was able to pick up some great building tips for this model, which will help me in the future,

Thanks,
Jeff

Nice maiden Bob - good clean smooth flying - nice to watch !!! Good too you've broken the Logo jinx ! I'll have to get my butt into gear and learn nice inverted 8s now ! In some ways I think the grey sky shows up the bird better than bright sun as long as the video exposure is compensated - anyway really enjoyed it !

I found the L500 to be very sensitive to blades - the Rotortech 515 made it come alive whereas generic 550s smoothed it out a bit and gave it more the feel of its 600 big sister - so far I've found the SAB 516s to give the best compromise of speed versus smoothness. I also think it's quite sensitive to lipo weight and using the 3700 and 4350 packs certainly seems to give it more zip than the 5000 although I haven't tried the Evo Lite yet.

try the EvoLite 5350's - you won't be disappointed,

Very cool Bob!!! :YeaBaby:

How far does the battery stick out the front of the heli?

To balance I did have to have it sticking out about 3 inches but not as much as a 4900 25C pack!

3 inches? Wow, that Solid-G gyro must weigh a lot then. With a Spartan DS760/BLS251 on the tail mine balances with the EVOlite 6S 5350 sticking out about 1/2 inch. My overall weight is exactly 6lbs (or 2720g).

Super Bob, very nice video. It would be possible for you to save it a more portable files for Linux and Mac users? I know how to convert but... ;-)

OK OK... I didn't measure it dang it... But I thought it was about 3" from the top of the hole. Maybe from the bottom it was less... I just kept moving it until the heli balanced and as a GUESS it looked like 3"..... I realize though that 3" looking at the top of the hole is probably a lot less that the bottom.

The Solid-G is really light so that is not the cause....

Probably just me.... Sheesh guys remember I got like 3 flights before it rained on us so I was giving an estimate! I will measure next time...

BTW I do want to say.... TALK ABOUT AXIAL ROLLS.... this heli rolls so SWEET that I did not have to give any elevator corrections on my rolls.... Several people on later flights comments how great this heli looked on rolls...

Not sure about Linux, but on the Mac just download Flip4Mac and you will be able to watch any of Bob's files in right in quicktime. That way when you click on the files to watch quicktime will open and play them same as any .mov file.

Thanks for the info. It works fine but Flip4Mac is not free (water mark in the video) :(, but it's ok.

If you don't like that, then you might want to try VLC player. It seems to work pretty well

Thanks for the info. In fact the issue with the water mark is only when you try to import the file in iMove. The idea was to make a DVD merging all the video and being able to see it on a big TV flat screen... I will buy the license, its not a big deal

We're still talking flip4mac right with the watermark comment? Anyway I just bought a new MacBookPro and was wondering about having to pay for it since my last computer had it installed a couple of years ago. Things often change so I was wondering if I would have to pay for it this time around on the new laptop. Checked last night and you can in fact download and use it for free. Now unless you were commenting on VLC it sounds like your saying if you try to move the files to imovie then itputs the watermark.

How do you like the Jazz, Bob?

Is it really worth the money like everyone says?
