I see the same thing happening here as with the Spartan DS760 once you reviewed it and everybody found out. Maybe I better buy one now just to get it while I can.;)

Bob,
You said in your gyro setup video on this heli that you would tell us what adjustments you tweaked to get the heli's gyro setup to your liking. What was the outcome of that?

I set up for Trex600E and lowered gaint to about 26. That worked out very well for me.

I am new in this branch and I have a spectrum rx and in order to subtrim my elevator before mounting I wathced in servo setup video ,I could not figure it out where does he gets his power from beside the elevator stik.Is there a proper instruction for how to do this. Thanks:thumbup:

First you want to set your elevator ELEV subtrim and trim to zero, power up your servo from the Rx and find the best position for the servo arm (ie at 90° to the servo) you can use subtrim here from the DX7 adjust menu - you can do it external or it isn't too big a deal to do it with the servo in place and the left aileron servo removed.

I want to trim and subtrim my elev before mounting otherwise I am going to have difficulties mountting servo horn on ,therfore I think it would be easeir for me to do it externaly.

Externaly In the video servo setup he used the binding switch hooked up to reciever and ELEV serov in reciever and I couldnīt see any batterie sources on reciever.

If you use a THREE wire switch you can put a NiCd into the switch power lead and the Bind Plug into the charge lead. If you just have the plug this has to go into the BAT/PWR socket and you can then power the Rx by any spare channel using the Regulator output (all the sockets on the Rx have their +/- connected in parallel by a bus) - it doesn't matter how you do it for your purpose of setting the subtrim - PS unless you have hands the size of a troll it isn't THAT difficult mounting the servo arm with the ELEV servo in situ :)

Hi!
Just finished my Logo 500 VStabi build... man I had troubles... the only thing that help was watching and following your videos! Really great! Otherwise I would have thrown this model out of the window! Some things where changed since you build yours, but nothing important.
Your build videos are an important point when deciding for a new model! Thanks again!

Bob, did you ever try running with the 15t pinion and higher governor setting to see if it helped with heat?

Yes I did. The temps dropped a little but on hot days (over 90f) I still had overheat shut downs running 550mm blades.
I have since switched to a CC85 controller. I think the JAZZ would be good if it had a built in heat sink on BOTH MOSFET boards.

Ah, that's too bad. I've always though the slow start of the CC ESCs was a bit harsh and the Jazz's so smooth. How's the slow start been for you with the CC 85?

If you set it right with the Castle USB connection, it is so slow it is ANNOYING! My god I set it to the slowest and it took freakin a minute to get up to speed! Well not quite a minute but it was annoyingly SLOW! I cranked it up little by little until I liked it (you can ONLY do this with the USB interface)
Bob
P.S. Still running the OLD firmware on this comment! I cant speak for the new stuff. I guess I gotta do a updated vid on that!

Get the new version! It's really worth an update! I'm using the the HV-85 and it was set-up in a few minutes. I made some logs, the default soft-start is 1/2 second slower than the default soft-start of an Jazz 80 and the curve looks by far better with much less torque at the beginning!

What I really meant was the initial spool up from nothing. In the past, Castle ESCs would cause my heli to turn almost 180 when I didn't pre-spin the head by hand so it wouldn't jump on me.

Something not right there ! I have used CCHV85 and CC80 on TREX600 and Logo 500 and got a very nice smooth spoolup (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=mercuriell&filename=spoolup2.wmv)- that's with the old firmware too!

The boom is probably slipping in the boom block. Wrap one wrap of clear packing tape around the boom where the boom block clamps on it.

You still flying your Logo Bob? I remember a while back you were talking about wanting a motor with some more nutz.

Yes I still have it. Going to change out the ESC to a CC85 to solve my over heating issue. No need to replace the motor! It's got plenty of gutz.. When I went to 550mm blades that heli came alive.

Bob, a have a few questions for you and it's OK if you don't answer each question.
1) Do you know if the build of the LOGO 500 and LOGO 600 are pretty much the same?
2) How difficult would it be using your build videos for the LOGO 500 to build a LOGO 600 3d flybarless (I would be using the helicommand instead of the Mikado system)?
3) Between the LOGO 600 and TREX 600, which one is a better heli? Parts and cost is not too much of an issue since I will be careful with it.
I'm still a noob and I don't think I would be able to build a heli without your videos... otherwise, it would look like something completely different than a heli :D
