I saw this on the other forum. Not quite sure why it's not already posted here so I'll go ahead and give it a go.

"The Smackdown of the South Crew would like to invite all to come down south for our 3rd Annual funfly May 16-18 2008. This will be a AMA event and pilots landing fees will be set at $20.00 Current AMA membership is required to fly. If you have any ? you can email me here on runryder.

I will be posting more as things are worked out.

working on getting Prizes for a pilots giveaway.

EDIT: Just saw the it was only posted a few hours ago so that's probably why it hasn't made it our way yet ;)

The field is called Cobb County Remote Control Modeler's Club. It's located in Acworth Ga. which is just 35 minutes or so north of Atlanta. There's a large runway that could accommodate 4-6 3d heli pilots and another heli section that can accommodate at least one pilot. There's definately some bada$$ pilots in the area that will more than most likely be in attendance.

EDIT: Here's the address via the website link:

2302 Pitner Rd NW.
Acworth, GA 30101-4477

All last year I was driving past it going to Steelcase in Atlanta every other week. Now I'm not. I seem to be going more midwest in the truck. I keep my 450 with me JUST IN CASE!!! :)

Where would the closest truckstop be to the field. I would have to cab it to get there. I would take my car down in May though. I'm just thinking about while working.

It may just end up being too far.......worth a shot though.

It's really not far from I-75 so it shouldn't be too hard to find a truck stop, I just don't know where to start looking. When I get back to school, I'll give google Earth a shot and see if I can find anything that way.

Well, lets get a head count for who is planning on attending this weekend. Sure wish it was more than one day. Sure would make the drive worthwhile! I guess we could just stick around and fly on Sun.

Thinking about going - who else?
