This is for the Heli Guys. This motor is designed specifically for T-Rex Flyers, but it will work on many other heli's as well, including the Shogun and potentially larger heli's. It is very powerful but the experts will decide whether this is "The Motor" for the T-Rex or larger heli's as it is designed to be. So please post what you think. Alot more data will be posted over the next few weeks, but I have decided to invited any interested heli flyers in on the fun.

Introductory Price: $50 + $5 shipping.
Pinion: 9T is included
Screws: Three different styles of 2 screws
KV: 4000
Weight: 55 Grams
Diameter: 27.7 mm
Length: 47 mm
Shaft length: 13 mm
Battery: 3-4 S
No Load Amp Draw: ??? Sorry I will post this later - I intend to test this shortly.

If you are interested - please email me:
1) The heli you intend to use this on. If you have larger than a T-Rex that would be interesting to know.
2) What you think you can contribute to the testing of this motor?
3) If you have experience with the 400DH.
4) Do you own and intend to use a tachometer and amp meter?
5) How long have you been flying your T-Rex or other heli ?

I have about twenty of these for sale, if you are interested email me Vinnie@JustGoFly.com. I will be running small tests on other KV 450 motors.

I intend to fully cover this motor for a month after you purchase. I do want you to push the motor, within reason, to see what it can do. Please don't do more than 30 amps, as I will be doing that myself. I can not cover anything other than the motor - so please be careful out there. If you purchase and dislike, find the information is incorrect, or whatever - I will refund your purchase minus the PayPal and shipping fee.

Please do not pay until I give you the go ahead. I will not process PM's. I will reply to them by telling you to email me: Vinnie@JustGoFly.com.

I only had a few minutes to try this motor tonight before the partially charged battery in the heli and in the camera died.
Initial thoughts are that the motor is great fit in the TREX. I had to pull the throttle curve back a bit as the head speed was too high. Full pitch climb outs were not a problem.
The motor didn't even get warm in a flight of flipping, looping, and rolling.
I gave it to Kyle to wring out but the pack gave up.
Everything is on charge and I hope to try it again tomorrow.

Will you build something for a Lipoly V2 Carbon too? I have a little BL with 225 watt constant, weighing 100 grams. Yours has the same, but weighs only half of it...

RStacy,

I am looking forward to your input on this motor. Thanks for the info and keep it coming.

Laurens,
These motors are designed for the T-Rex, but they will certainly work in many other micro heli's. In some cases they may be overkill but in the case of the LiPoly V2 shown here:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2857734&postcount=22

it would have to be tested. If you want an idea of whether this motor can handle 225 watts constant - I can set it up on the bench and rig something to pull 220+ watts and let it run for 10 minutes and see how hot it gets. Let me know if you think this is an appropriate test. The screw holes are the standard 16 x 19 mm and the bell is 27.7mm but needs a few mm's clearance since the bell turns with the axle.

I am looking for guys with micro heli's of roughly 2 pounds or less to test this motor - email me: Vinnie@JustGoFly.com with details on your setup, your experience level, and how you could contribute to the testing - Skill, Experience, Tach, WattMeter, Dynonometer :D but most importantly willing to provide information on the motor. An experienced Heli flyer with experience with Brushless can also contribute to the testing. I expect the testing to end by June 6th and the price will go back to normal. I have other 450 size motors of higher KV that I will introduce for more customer testing at that point.

The 3000 KV 400 size motor has proven to be very good in a 3D Pro

We have the same in 450 size (450TH) and a 3450 KV motor in 450 size that I have not even opened the shipment containter.

So this first - then more.

Vinnie,

I was more thinking about a 100-150 gram motor. Your motor weighs 55 gram, but the heli will weigh around 1000 grams.

We'll have larger motors out later this summer. I wonder how the lighter 450 motor would do on your heli. I am looking for someone with a T-Rex that can also test in a 2 lb heli. I'll post results once I find that person.
