Just like to share a video of a new flybarless system that I have been testing, designed and developed by a friend of mine. It is a single unit 2-axis gyro with a PC interface for fine tuning, as well as tuning pods for fast tuning at the field. So far we have tested it in a Mini Titan, Trex 450, & Logo 500, and are very happy with the results. The system and user interface is very easy to understand and program, which is one of the main goal when designing.

More info and videos to come :)

very nice looking. got any closeup shots of the head and/or electronics and placement?

Sorry I don't have any close-up picture of the head at the moment, will take some soon :)

Holy smoke. That thing sounds fierce. What power system are you running?

Oops: watched the beginning again. Stock motor and ESC? Wow.

hey alvin that looks cool , any idea when this will be available to the masses ? I probably want one for my 600 .

Why are people doing "flybarless" systems? It seems odd to replace a $5 flybar with two $100 gyros. I can see the reason for scale helis, mabye even the "because I can" argument. Are there any other reasons/benifits that I haven't understood yet?

removing the flybar increases efficiency by reducing mass in the rotorhead . you remove alot of parts there and it makes the head significantly lighter which means it takes less energy to keep it spinning . Also its my understanding that a flybarless system doesnt load the head up while performing manouvers that involve pitch changes and cyclic changes at the same time . The whole cyclic pitch question is null .

On an electric heli you can decrease weight, or increase efficiency to lengthen flight time. Going Flybarless seems to accomplish both of these objectives.

Ok, thanks for the explanations. It just seemed weird to me to remove the flybar only to find the heli unflyable. Then add gyros to make it flyable again, eg behaving like it had a flybar, lol.

I understand better now:YeaBaby:
(oh btw, the "because I can" quite a good argument as well...hehehe)

Yes!......yes....yes....yes.

I hate the flybar. Measure...measure....measure. Sight/squint....Twist one way. Off the other... twist again....repeat....

Looks really good! Nice work.

Thank you for sharing that. I will be very interested in acquiring a system like that when it comes out.

Electric Heli + flybarless = <3

Electric Heli + flybarless = <3

oh boy, a math problem. lessee...electric heli plus flybarless is less than or equal to three.

:thinking

There's no release date yet as of today, we are constantly trying new stuff and with the rainy season over here in Vancouver, its hard to get any valuable stick time :(

I'm currently running a 430XL, stock esc, 13T @ 100% throttle, putting back around 1550mah after a 4 minute flight. The good thing about flybarless is that you will be able to get crazy fast cyclic if you want to, yet maintaining stability.

seeing a lot of 'subscribing' posts.

you guys know you can go to the 'thread tools' at the top of any post and sub or unsub.

just a public service announcement.

just a public service announcement.I was thinking about posting that earlier. Glad you did.

The Thread Tools is a pull down. When you choose "Subscribe to this Thread", you get a page that tells you how many threads your subscribed to. :wow2:

You can also Unsubscribe the same way. ;)

Other forum sites using this software have a feature where you can unsubscribe to threads from a list you can access. I bet some folks here have a looong list. That would be nice here too. Maybe someday.

Anyway... I'm subscribed. :P

There is such a list here. Go to User CP. Under the Subscribed Thread section click on the "View All Subscribed Threads" link. There you can unsubscribe to messages.

Now if you want to send me a unit to put on 450, I can give plenty of testing and feedback assuming you're making software changes.

Ah... very nice. Thank you!
How the heck did I miss that?

Edit: I just found it under Quick Links as well. I need to pay attention more.
