Hi to eveybody
last day I finally tried my new radio
I followed all the instructions for the new
channels on the RX
I used the same gyro gain for all condition
IDLE 1 1750
IDLE 2 1830
(37% like my old T9Z WCII)
but I noticed that my tail, when I make flip goes on the right side
and this happens only during flips because I tried tic tocs
and metronomic rolls and the tail is allways good
I thought was only a problem of mine
but yesterday two friends called me
sayng the same strange things ....
What happens?
Please help will be deeply appreciated
Thank you very much
Best regards
Giuseppe

Is the 37% what is actually showing on the GY 601 screen, or is this 37% the value being set in the radio?

Dear DavidH
yes it's the 37% that I read on my 601 screen
With the 14mz if you put 37 you have automatically 37 on the gyro screen
I allways used this value for all my flight conditions

Well, I have heard others comment about this. After a lot of head scratching, here is my theory (which could be wrong of course). The receiver is reacting a lot faster now, which leads to faster cyclic changes. Those faster changes are resulting in a faster load being imposed on the tail. Due to that load happening faster, the gyro needs to react faster to keep up.

I had one machine that seemed to do the same thing. The 9251 has about 150 flights on it so I swapped it for a new one and the issue went away. IMO the cyclic change is happening faster and that is why the tail may move.

Try upping the gain to 38-40% and see if that helps. Also make sure the tail linkage is very smooth. You motor also needs to no bog so the tail rotor speed is kept fast. Last if the servo is over 150 flight old, it may just be a bit weaker than it once was.

Some things to think about.

Eric,

So what is your test for determining when the 9251 should be replaced? Poor tail hold while doing a 360 piro terminal velocity tail slide?

150 flights is like 3 months for some people.

:) na, I can do the terminal tail slides without a gyro

I don't really know if there is a good answer. I just start to notice that it gives up more in some maneuvers. After replacing the servo, it is very apparent that it was getting weak.

The 9251 should last a heck of a long time. The only reason to replace it is to get Max performance. Getting that last little bit of performance costs a lot of $. Ask anyone who races what it costs to win. It is just a personal decision as to how much a person wants to spend to get the performance they desire. There are not too many ways to short cut that.
