For winter storage I’m looking to discharge my FlightPower EvoLite 2500mAh 11.1v batteries to 10.8v or 3.6v per cell. This value is recommended in issue #19 of RC Heli Magazine.

My question is… my Triton Jr. has a discharge setting of 12v, 9v, 6v and 3v none of which work for 10.8v. Is it possible to discharge to that voltage using this charger other than watching the volts count down and stopping it manually at 10.8v?

You can go into the NiCD or NiMH discharge programs and set any shut off point you want.

Thanks for the reply but does the NiCD or NiMH setting correctly handle a LiPo battery?

The NiCD and NiMH will discharge just fine. I have used a old original Triton to dischare LiPos for storage all the time. Just make sure you do not try to cycle LiPo batteries in the NiCD or NiMH setting. The charge settings will not work with LiPos.
