Today was the second time my gyro made my heli go boom bang. I dont understand it, (I have several flights betveen the two failures) I do as always, turn on the radio, turn on the heli, wait for the red light to stop blinking. but these two times after lift of the heli spins and makes an impact with mother earth. Please stop me before I throw the peace of sh*t into the wall. or should I just do it and bye a new one:confused:

If your gyro caused 2 crashes. I would say get a new one, or at leased go back and recheck all settings. The third time is probably coming up. You have 2 great helis, it would be a shame if your gyro keeps messing them up. My 401 was crazy today also. I escaped a crash in my T-rex 450. I'm gonna say it was the cold, my own fault for not letting it get used to the cold maybe.

You might want to check your tail belt tension (might be slipping). Also maybe your gyro needs to be reversed. Just a couple of things to check. Normally the gy401 is fantastic. Everyone recommends it along side the logitech2100 for 450 size helis.

Be sure to check the status light on the gyro when powering it up in the cold. Especially with a Spektrum radio. Mine sometimes takes longer to link in the cold and my gyro initializes in rate mode because the radio didn't link quickly enough. If its really cold (under 30) my gyro usually initiallizes in rate mode close to 50% of the time.

Interesting. I will keep an eye for that on my SA bird. Learn something new everyday.

Wildflyer, never take off without a real preflight check: test all controls and wag the tail to verify that the gyro works correctly.
