Hey everyone, my name is Chris Canada. I got into RC years ago, but do to life, I had to take alittle brake for a while and have just recently got the super-itch to return RC Flight. I have experience (intermediate) flying airplanes, but my love is for helicopters.

On the advice of just about everyone I've talked to, I purchased RF G4, and am diligently logging flight hours virtually on my PC. After roughly 20 hours, I'm pretty good hovering and manouvering the helicopter around provided I'm tail in. Nose in, woah... call out the RC firetrucks. lol. I'm working on that.. forward flight I understand but need to refine my reflexs to make it comfortable for me.

To the Point:
I have a Futaba T9CHP Transmitter:
36563

A Reciever:
36565

A GY401 Gyro with a digital 9253 servo
36564

4 S9001 servos
36566

All of this equipment is brand new. Never used. I orginally purchased this to go into my Nexus 30 helicopter (not flown).

I want to transition to a electronic helicopter. I have read about the Align 450s, 500s, and 600s. My gut tells me that I want to get into a 450 SE v2, but I just don't know if my current electronics will work with this helicopter.

I know I would need to buy new / smaller servos for this helicopter, but would I have to also purchase a new receiver? or will the one I already have work?
Am I better off just selling off what I have and getting all new equipment?
Will the S9253 digital servo work for the tail? or does that also need to be a micro only?
If I were to purchase a 500 Sized helicopter would the current servos I have fit into that kit?
I'm a NEW pilot, is a 450 just the wrong helicopter for me? I'm going electric do to my location, so nitro isn't something I'm interested in.
Should I buy a Blade 400 (like comparing apples to oranges I know) and learn on that then goto a better system? My local hobby shop, while about an hour away, carries Align and Blade parts, so I know I can get local support there. Last time I was there, they were so busy, I was barely able to ask more then a few questions. Not their fault, but saturday morning that place is hopping with business.

I'm seeking the insight, advice, and or wisdom of a heli professional to guide me down this confusing path. Yes, money is an object in this situation, I'm just trying to be smart about this.

BTW - for the moment I am selling all of my stuff, to fund the transition, over at rcuniverse.com ( http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemID=361465 ) if you want to see it.

IF I'm going about this all wrong I'd love to hear it..

Thanks for your time and consideration and help

the first thing I can tell is that only your gyro and transmitter would be okay for a 450 V2

your servos and receiver are too big

1.yes
2.maybe
3.no, 9650, 9257, or JR 3400G
4.don't think so
5.bigger=more stable BUT! costs more to crash. I have a 450 and i'm a new pilot too and it's fine for me!
6.NO!NO!NO! no rtf, PLEASE!

if you want a 450 and need help for electronics, go to: TrexAddict.com (http://trexaddict.com)

Are you quite sure you can't fly the nitro somewhere? What you have would really be a good starter machine, nice and stable and easy to fly. A 450 will be more difficult to learn on. Personally, unless it is just not possible, I'd seriously think about spending the money on fuel and fly what you have. You're never gonna get any good money out of your used equipment...
