You guys seen the Gaui 200? It's the size of a CX2 but it's a real (sorry) heli. I love my CX2's. I love my Trex V2. Hell I even love my CP pro. But, I'd be lying if I said the Gaui 200 wasn't my favorite heli.
My point is, I think a lot of people including myself, like the CX2 for its size. I put a CX2 canopy on mine and will be fitting the tail on it next week (i'll be away from home for the weekend) if I can get it to work. Anyway, if it does I'll post some pics!

Haha, never thought about posting the gaui here, but seems suiting buzzkill :)
Anyway to answer your question puma, Gaui 200 :) It is very stable for the size, and flys a lot like a trex.... but harder to fly in my opinion. When gaui decides to go in a certain direction, it just wants to rocket there, more so than the trex 450, so you have to be more on it.
Here is my gaui 200 with the cx fuselage:

and some sport flying:

if you surf around, you'll see some really cazy 3D stuff from the pros.... sportin' & hovering it around is all that I am able to manage. I got it because I wanted something that I can practice hovering around the backyard, but turns out i could sport fly it around a bit, which I didn't expect to be able to.... really love this heli, maybe as much as buzzkill :)

try it again in a bit.... youtube seems to do that, a few hours after a video is post, it will sometime show that it is unavailable, but then comes back again soon after. Nothing much to look at on the first video though... was just hovering around to see/check the cx fuselage. There are some pics of the cx body on the gaui posted here: http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=65170

Well I wouldn't call gaui 200 a beginner heli either. I consider myself fairly noob, it's a real handful for me. Parts are pretty cheap compared to most of the helis out there :) Initial cost is pretty darn high though.
The best thing about gaui 200 is that you can practice in a pretty small area, so you get lots of stick time in at home... when it's nice out, I hover & slow foward flight around the yard... when the weather is crappy I hover in different orientations in the garage. I can't do anything with the trex at home except to hover tail in, there just isn't enough space at my skill level :)
