Has anyone tried flying their raptor without the clear plastic covering on the main blades? When I got my bird the main blades had the grips epoxied on but no covering and I was wondering if anyone has flown like that b4. I dont think its a good idea because of the possibility of them shredding apart but who knows. Also will the Futaba 240 gyro run a digital servo on the tail or will only the 401 run a digital servo?

Them shredding apart probably isn't an issue. Them soaking up fuel and oil and weighing more is. Toss them or recover them.

Does the 240 have a "digital" switch? If so it should run a digital servo. Read the manual.

If the wood isn't soaked in oil, just paint them. I used acrlic lacquer to do a set and they lasted thru a couple gallons of fuel.....till I crashed. The paint/coating you use needs to be fuel proof.

I sprayed mine with an airbrush, but you could brush it on. Might want to check balance afterward. No reason to throw the blades away just because the coating came off.

I have always used Monokote trim . It is 5" wide and 36" long , comes with a sticky back . Works great . Just seal off the tips , and around the grips . and your done .
