Hey guy's,
I'm pretty sure this topic came up before but is there a chance to shut down the beep tone when programming the X9303 ? Because it drives my wife crazy, and you all know how it is - wife driven crazy -starting to hate my new toys - less money for new toys - end of story :-)) Any suggestions (besides getting divorced... :-)) !

Either put a switch in the wire leading to the beeper/speaker or put something absorbent over it, like cotton or similar.

You could call Horizon support, They'd probably know best. Either that or stop programming and go fly with it! LOL!

My guess is:
NO
what radio DOESNT have a programming beep?
As far as that 9303 goes, when changing values on that pitch or throttle curve with that scroll wheel, it goes
"b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-
b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b--eeep". (sometimes longer!)
It isnt cool to set up a heli in the middle of the night when everyone else in the house is sleeping.

Thankfully, I haven't had to tweak anything on the X9303 in the quiet of the evening, but did with my DX7. What I did to quiet it down was pull the cover off the DX7 and stuff a small piece of receiver foam into the cavity just below the Spektrum logo. The beeper/speaker/annoying noise maker is on the back side of the circuit board in that space. The foam quieted it down nicely but I can still hear the timer beeps when I'm flying. I'll probably do something similar with the X9303.

Why is this not an option?:arggg: My fiance ahtes the beep beep beep, Iwork second shift and do heli work after 12 at night so the beeping causes some friction every now and again.

Wait, why isn't your fiance programming the radio so that it is ready for you when you are walking in the door from work??
Huh?
I'd think about this before tying the knot....
I understand your situation because I do the same in the middle of the night.
I'm using Futaba 12Z and this radio has individual beep sound volume control.
I turn off all the beeps except timers

Same here - except I'm not a shift worker and usually mess about with programing late at night - it drives my daughter NUTS ! ( HEE - HEE ! )
Hopefully she will move out of my house and get a place of her own soon if I keep this up ! :-)
She's 28 and doesn't like my R/C hobbies, pistol shooting or my motorbikes either for that matter. :-P

The easiest way to keep the late night complaints down are to get rid of the complainers. LOL

Just dunk it in the toilet, you'll saturate the speaker cone and you'll be all set. ;-)
I must admit, like others, The beep is ok when you are setting a few things or 2, makes you sure that you are actually registering a pressed key.
But, when you are setting up a new heli, it drives the wife nutz when the beeping is going crazy.

I would be more concerned about your rights to a run over the target getting revoked!

I don't know if the 9303 is the same but my 12x all you have to do is hold the enter button when you power it on, then do under option 98. tx settings .then turn on silent mode. 98 is also the where you setup the backlight on the 12x

ok, now you are going to make a few people jealous.
The 9303 doesn't have a back light.
That was my only reason for wanting and x12, I don't think I'll ever use 12 channels but that back light is sure a nice feature ;)

Pinecone that is awesome!!!!!
Have you done this mod?

No. The current kit requires that you peel off the reflective layer. And I am not ready to do that.
I may get the parts to do it the original method.

I thought about doing the backlight mod to my dx-7 but I never use it so it would be a waste of time. was Not the backlight that sold me on the 12x it was the way it felt .It was a smooth as silk compared to the 9303 , it was as big of a difference as the dx-7 to the 9303. I'm hoping they don't make a huge change in radios soon . I don't want to buy another radio for at least 4 years.
