View Full Version : Unstable charging voltage - why?

My T30 + T6B combo hasnt been able to sustain a stable charge in the sense that the last two decimal number fluctuates throughout the charging duration and gets slightly better when it reaches 4.2XX V .

The last two decimal numbers while charging fluctuates between .010 to .030 volts which is very disturbing. Has anyone experienced this charactor on their T30+T6b or any other charger? I am just worried that it may be detrimental to my lipo's well being.

Hope someone could share their experience.

It is just the charger adjusting to maintain the proper charge current during the Constant Current Phase. Once the packs get to 12.6 volts and the charge current starts down, the charge votlage should be pretty steady.

And we are taking about hundredths of a volt.

Appreciate your reply, pinecone. I understand how the CC-CV charge rate tapers off directly proportional to time, however, the fluctuation is by the tenth rather than the hundreth of a volt , that is what worries me. Is it something I should be worried about?

Contact the maker/distributor of your charger.

I don't worry about things like that. :)

Will definately do that but I would also want to understand the situation as much as possible, thanks anyway.

Try measuring the current instead of the voltage. I expect that there is very little current being injected with a 20mV difference.
