Best Western is OK. Hotel Roberts is no longer open. It closed couple years ago, That was the best deal in Muncie that the AMA had negotiated.

The Hotel Roberts was a nice place. It was a four star hotel. I stayed there several times, $60 a night and the rooms were huge and nice. Upgrade to the Presidental floor for $80 a night and it was open bar ever evening from 5 till 8. Was worth the $20 extra just to get the free drinks.
The downside to the Hotel Roberts, you had to carry everything up to the room via elevators. The homeless from the shelter next door would help you unload your vehicle thou. LOL
The building that was the hotel is now a homeless shelter I have heard.

DavidH - It appears you have alot of experience with the Jamboree. What is the best hotel to stay in? Does AMA have any deals worked out, etc.? I am looking forward to my first trip as well.

All of the motels listed in the other posts are AMA special rate deals. You have to mention it is an AMA event to get the special rate. I have stayed at the BW and the Signature on that list. They both are fine. All of the ones on the list are OK. Most of them are on McGalliard Ave, which is sort of the main street where all the food places, shopping centers, are located. Signature is about 8 miles from the field. The rest are in the same area as the Signature.
Yes I have been to Muncie a few times. The Nats have been held there since 94, plus in 2001 I was there for 30 days total in a 3 month time span, Nats, World Championships, first Jamboree there.

The newest hotel in the Muncie area is the Fairfield Inn by Marriott. I have stayed there and it is probably the nicer of the group.
