I received the gentled focus yesterday to remotely trigger my Rebel XTi. I am very happy with the product. From my preliminary research, it looked like the blip was the only option that would work for my needs other than fabricating a servo based trigger, but the slowed down continuous mode and the price kept me looking for other options.

The switch plugs right into the side of the camera and has 2 led status lights that tell you if it is in focus mode or shooting. I replaced my aux 2 switch on my DX7 with a momentary pushbutton switch from radio shack, which seems to work well so far.

My gentled seems to be configured a little different than the instructions say, as when I press the button and hold it focuses and when I release it triggers a burst of 5 shots as fast as the camera will shoot them. I was not expecting this function, but I think it will work well. There are detailed instructions on their website about changing modes, and it seems like there are plenty of options to shoot, should the need arise. I havent flown with it yet due to weather, but am hopibg to try it tomorrow.

This only cost about $50 shipped, it took awhile to get (over 2 weeks), but gentled shipped it the next day, so it was not their fault.

The gentled works well, and is lightweight too. but the best part is that it is prebuilt :D
most things we do are usually DIY. I go back and forth between the gentled and my Jomar E-switch... which I had to make ;)

I agree, it is a great little switch. I use it on my camera mount. I move the throttle control half way and it focus's. Move it to full throttle and it snaps the picture. It cant get any easier than that.
