I got one of these off e-bay, cheap. I got an Ultrafly A/30/29 motor and 25A ESC later. I just put them together along with an Xtreme Power Systems 6channel receiver. It seems to be a great combination so far. I'm using 11.1v 3s 1300 mAh li-poly batteries. On full power, the ESC (or the FMA LVC) started cutting the power, so I backed the throttle ATV down to 25% on the high side and it seems to fly great.

Being a heli guy, basically, I had no idea how much fun these little planes could be. It's my first Park Flyer 3D airplane and just buzzing around on low rates it flies like a dream, very little trim was needed and it goes right where I point it. I can't wait to get more time on it try some high alpha stuff.

The only draw back is that the landing gear are worthless. It won't ROG, the gear just mush into the ground. I'll add a spreader bar for now, but maybe late I'll put some carbon gear on it.

After flying it today, I've encountered a problem. At moderate power settings, the ESC cuts out. I put a Whattmeter on it and generally around 5 amps it cuts out. Lowering the throttle all the way to 0 will allow it to start again, but it will cut out at the same amperage level. I set the FMA Low Voltage Cutoff to cut out at about 7.8 volts (for a 3 cell pack), just to make sure it wasn't the LVC, and apparently it wasn't. It's worse with my cheap pack, I put a Thunder Power 3s 1320 pack on it and I got about 11 minutes out of it before the power cut.

Any experience with this?

OK, it looks like the packs I'm using are hitting the low voltage cutoff in the ESC. Better/bigger batteries and some ESC programming should do the trick.
