View Full Version : Want more Cyclic???Easy mod.
Hi Guys,
I don't know how many of you here agree with me but one thing I didn't like about the 500 was that I found the cyclic very slow and I've been thinking on how to improve cyclic speed.
Here's what I tried and liked: A set of KSJ 3mm paddles ($6) , these paddles weight 16gr , I lightened them down to 11.5g and I can tell you that the cyclic speed is now a lot faster than with the stock paddles.

Slow!! Holy Moly! I set up my AIL / ELEV / Pitch like allways, give as much as no binding results on the swash. The result was 14 degrees collective and 14.5 degrees cyclic. It was so horrible fast, that I had to limit ist to 11 degrees... Did you use wrong servos horns, that are to short?

Nope , proper servo arms and swash maxed out too , 13deg. of collective and 2850 H/S.

Yea it is very slow indeed. I do hope they make a lighter paddle as well perhaps a tad longer flybar to speed it up.

Weird, I don't find it slow at all, quite the contrary, I had to tune it down, expo -30%....

Hmmm... I'm just learning so I started at 25% expo on cyclic, but it was so sluggish I had to turn the expo off. Now it seems ok... not too twitchy at all. I only have @ 8 degrees swash though... or around there (tx limited), I need to measure to see what its at now.

Sluggish with expo?
What throttle curve are you running?
I am running 0-60-80-90-100 and +35 expo on my DX7, and I find very responsive indeed.

If they make a paddle in the 6-7 gram mark that woulod be much better for sure, it would speed up the cylic enough,,, I think....
