Just a heads up although i dont know what you'll do about it. My V-Stabi died inflight yesterday. First warning sign was an odd piro function, wouldnt stop piro'ing for a further 90 degress rotation to where i commanded it. I landed check everything, found a slightly loose belt, tightened it thinking it might have been a static hit although i've never had a static glicth before. Went up again and commanded some hard piro's for about a minute and it looked fine so proceeded to some circuits and 3D. Then all of a sudden at the top of a stall turn, it did the continuing piro on me again followed by some great piroflips (this is when i knew i was in trouble as i cant piroflip) so immediatley hit hold and tried to level for an auto. I think i had a little input at this time although i think it was mostly luck it leveled out as i still had no cyclic on the way down. Damage wasnt too bad but enough to hurt. Post crash inspection shows either nothing coming out of V-Stabi or sometimes erractic servo burst all over the place. Bypass V-stabi with servo's into Rx and everything works fine. The V-Stabi wont link to a PC now either...its DEAD! Talking to Mikado now about returning it to find out what happened but it sucks that this happens to be the first case of this i've ever seen and it happens to me :arggg:

I've been wondering about the reliability of th V-stabi. Now I wonder how long it will take for you to get it back or a replacement.

they've been around for quite some time now and never heard of this happening before so i'd think there reliability is very good except for mine . I've read these units are shock tested to 2000 G's although mine was never in a crash before this!

Wow, thats really a shame. This is the first I have heard of a V-Stabi failing in flight like you explain. Almost sounds like the sensor got loose during the flight.

Nope, sensor was attached solid and my wiring is immaculate and all plugs Rx and V-Stabi were firm and tight even after the crash. This V-Stabi died inflight!

Sorry for your lost.

Luckily you post it here and not in RR. otherwise, those vendors/ expert will blame you for not grounding it right away and have a complete bench test, bla bla bla ....

I once burnt my specktrum receiver without reason and they replace me a new one and "blaming" me for reversing the polarity. I NEVER REVERSE ANY POLARITY ! Anyway, I am satisfied with their customer service.

Sometimes mishap just happens.
