I have a hawk pro with all the usual upgrades including eccpm.....my prob is that it has a worn os.32. should I go with a os hyper .50 in it the way it is,or do the whole bigger boom, blade, etc deal????or should I just say the heck with it and buy a newer "high performance" machine......?
last thing...if I decide to just throw the .50 in it,what do I need to complete the install? i.e. motor mounts, gearing change,clutch,etc....
as always I thank you in advance,if it wasn't for the info I get on
HF I probably wouldn't get off the ground!!!!

I also have a hawk pro but with the Os 37 engine, lots of power so i added 600mm blades to see if it could handle them, It really settled this heli down, Better hover and ff flight exc. So added the all metal head and flybar upgrade. Decided that with the 600mm blades hanging over the tail blades was not a good idea so got the longer boom and supports, Its like a 50 now just without the engine. I really like the way it flies now. Im not into 3d so it is perfect fit for loops, stall turns and the like.

IMHO. the best upgrade for the Hawk is to change the OS32 to an OS37 or Toki 40 using either thel Toki tuned muffler of the CN3037 tuned muffler.
The Power to weight will be like that of most any 50.

Hey,
Just thought I'd add a bit here to. In the UK CenturyUK market a Hawk PRO 50 :
http://www.centuryuk.com/Products/Helicopter+Kits/30-50+Size+Helicopters/Hawk+Pro+50
Which as the name implies uses a 50 motor (Hyper in my case) and the kit comes bundled with all that is required for the conversion.
In this case :
1. 6mm feathering spindle, bearings & thrust races to convert head
2. Engine mount, think this is Falcon 46 one
3. Longer boom and tube drive
Mine is setup like this & works well, only other change I have heard is good is to change the pinion gear that transfers power to the maingear although I cant remember what its changed to off the top of my head. But if your interested I can find out.
In my example I am using bog stock, entry level servos and so I do not do hard 3D with it although with this engine it's got the power and ability to. In time I will upgrade the servo's and I will have more confidence to load the airframe up more in flight.
Having spent many years flying a Century Falcon 46SE with a webra 50 & pipe the model is more than capable of taking the power with the right mechanical changes.

It all depends on what you want... a 30 or a 50 ??
Leave it the way it is and put in a OS .37 w/pipe
Install longer boom and blades, install os50.
Only YOU can make the final decision.
