Hi,

On the way to a big trex (one day..hhh) - Probebly - Electric 600.

because I'm doing the shopping in steps I tought of starting with the radio.

At the moment I want to start with buying a good transmitter. something that will surve me for a long time.

Recummendations ?

(I have seen some talking about spektrum dx7, Futaba 7chp and more .. )

What will do a good work and fit well with trex models ?
What receiver should go with it ?

Thank you ;-)

My recommendation is the DX7 of those two. A wider range of Rxes that are also cheaper.

But if you want to buy one radio for a long time in the hobby, I would go X9303 2.4.

+1 on the DX7. Good 1st radio and pretty easy to program.

+1 on the X9303 as well. I have both and I've shelved the DX7 until I can get one of my kids interested in the hobby. :).

X9303 is a bit more expensive, but will be with you for quite a while.

Not trying to hijack this thread... but I am in the very same boat. Looking to start with just a TX and a SIM. I am torn between the 2.4 9303 or the DX7. I will eventually be flying a T-Rex 450.

Frankly I don't know enough about what my needs will be (TX feature likes, dislikes) to make an educated decision, but I know I need something to start SIM practice. My gut says do the DX7, but I would hate to regret it and want a 9303 as I learn more.

Also I have the question of whether to buy with the RX and servos or just try to find a TX alone.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

If you plan to stop with the 450, then the DX7 is more than enough. The 9303 is a great radio. If you need more than 5 channels, then you might consider it.

Soooo many unknowns. I like the look of the bigger Helis, like the 600. But the budget and wife will make me start with a 450. I could easily see moving up to Nitro and a bigger craft down the road. Also my eyesight is not the greatest, I fear problems with losing orientation of the machine. I would think the bigger the model (600 etc.) the easier it would be to keep the orientation in check.

If your budget will handle it, get the X9303. You won't regret it.

And it will take you where ever you want to go with the hobby.

Not saying the DX7 isn't a great radio, the X9303 is just a lot better, but a lot more money.

Just went through the same decision making process myself...

Both are good TXs...but the X9303 is a radio that will be with you
for a very long time...and well worth spending the extra cash for!

If you can afford it...go X9303 and don't look back :YeaBaby:

I like the 9C box with the 2.4 ghz RF module and AR7000 Rx.

9C has a LOT of latency with CCPM. Also nobody ever saw a need or market to write a books on programming a JR. There are two aftermarket books on programming Futaba.

:)

Oh, and:

Futaba 6 ch Rx = $100

Spektrum/JR 6 ch Rx = as low as $40

Any other questions? :)
