All can say is right on man, can't some soon enough! Anyone wants some 55-10-32s I'll have 4 of them up for sale for bargain price in April ! :D
I know I know, I am abit of a cheerleader for Kontronik ESCs, lol. But I have a post on RCG for almost one year waiting for this to happen! :D You would laugh if you knew how many emails and pms I shot off to these guys hassling them for new escs, lol.

Wow, I could have used that JIVE 80+ LV with a programmable BEC of 5-6V @5A with 15A peaks.

I know, I am going to have a hard time sleeping tonight. :happyd These kind of ESCs are long overdue and will really change alot as this has been a weak link in the big E heli scene for awhile now.

They look quite awesome. Small, light, and with a built-in expandable heat sink plate.
Now, as you said Shawn, where can we get our pre-orders in?

It all sounded so good until I saw how much they want for them! Have fun and tell us how they work out. I hope they are as good or better than the 55-10-32's.

I have had enough crispy CCs to pay for a fleet of these new Jives. I have no doubts they will be even better than what is available now. I have several 55s they have all been rock solid.
I do use CC escs on my Foamie Airplanes, do I dare say this here on the freak? :bad

fwiw,,,,,
I got a pm from a member so I feel the need to clarify something.
I am not in any way sponsored by Kontronik. Yes I am abit of a cheerleader for them as I love their escs, nothing more.
I personally have not had such good luck with CC escs that is fact, does that make them crappy?, absolutely not. They just are not my choice and I prefer the Kontronik ESCs is all. So please take my opinions as they are, opinions.
Sorry if I hurt anyones feelers, that is never my intention.

I don't think Castle is going out of business at those prices Shawn. They are well over due, and if they are as good as the earlier stuff I will have no problem spending the extra cash for one of those to have peace of mind.

Just in case folks aren't seeing the RCG thread on this, here's Kontronik's latest katalog:
http://www.kontronik.com/katalog08.pdf
Their application list is interesting, showing the Logo 500 with a few 4S setups, and more bizarrely no Logo 600. I sure don't get their showing the 4-6S Logo 500 requiring a HV ESC?
Their new Kira motors sure don't look all that Logo-applicable either. Maybe a T-Rex 500/600 motor among them but I didn't dig that far.
Ah well, I'm just here for the new ESC anyway ;)

Sweet! I hope they work well. Fed up of this ESC crap. It's ridiculous cos the Align ESC on my T600 refuses to die no matter what!
Just ordered a 55-10-32 and will heatsink the crap out of it to use in the meantime.

I quit using the CC HV controllers about a year ago. I could not get them to last for more than several flights on 12s. I am still getting around to testing the newer version of the SAE controllers even though I have been using the old version since I gave up the CC controllers and I have no complaints with it. There is at least one new company coming out with a line of controllers that we will have to see how good they are. You can get 3 of the SAE HV-85 controllers for one Jive HV-80 with change left over and probably four of the scorpions (not sure of their price range or amp capabilities yet. (if they perform anything like their motors they could be worth looking into) It is always nice to know that you can get a rock solid controller even though you have to pay a lot more for it. Options are a good thing.

Shawn,
You have been a bigger nag than my wife. Thanks to you, we are finally going to see some Kontronik escs between the Jazz 55-10-32 and the PowerJazz. Thanks Mate.
Beside the indicated price of these escs (these probably include 17% VAT, so they will probably be ~ that much lower for us), the two things I'm a little disappointed with is the 12s limit and no mention of any in-built spark arrestor, like the PowerJazz.
I guess, like many of us, I was hoping for a slightly smaller version of the PowerJazz that had 15s limits and build-in spark arrestor.
Also, I had a look at the new 'Jive' program2 card and I cannot honestly understand what this is supposed to do. Maybe the Jive's are mainly stick-programmable and the prog2 card is to fine-tune a few things. I wonder if the current program card can still be used.
I guess all will be revealed soon.
Cheers,
Tom C

Is anyone gonna use the built in BEC? I'm concerned about using it cos if the ESC dies, so will the heli! A separate RX lipo or BEC would be safer?
Also how much does running the radio gear off the main lipo reduce flight time?

I reckon you've got a failure component in any type of BEC / ESC. If its a kontronik then I know i'd feel a lot better as to the quality of the BEC anyway. Anything can fail sometimes...No, dont ask me about my V-Stabi Yet . As far as flight times being reduced, i only use around 120 mah per flight on a Rx pack whilst the power train used like 500 mah per minute, so i could only see you needing to reduce flight time by 15 Seconds. I think that sounds right!

I was told these new ones were test to the extremes for voltage and reliability. Apparently they have done more testing and engineering hours on these Jive series than all their others combined so I would imagine them to be good. I dunno what to say about anti spark Tom, it would have been nice and up to 15S yes would have been nice to, but sure looks alot better than what we have now up to 12S now at least with quality built in BEC as well to touch it up. I like the fact they are nice and light to for what you get for capabilities. Yes I am a NAG indeed when it comes to the helis and their needs. :D

Speaking of antispark, is it a bad idea to put spark supressors on 55-10-32's? Do these ESC's immediately measure the voltage of lipos upon plugging in in order to set the governor? If so, a supressor is a no no.
Mate,
No problem using a spark arrestor with Jazz 55-10-32. I've been using one on a 10s for a long time, no problem. The esc does not really see/measure the voltage until you actually start it up (flick it into Idle-up).
Cheers,

Can't wait for these new ESC. I love Kontroniks. Finally no more CC for me. No issues using spark arrestor, I've been using one for ages with a Jazz 55-10-32.

I was told the LV versions up to 6S will be out in April, and the HV versions will be in May. A long painfull wait it will be :(, sniff, sniff.
