Anyone know where to get the settings for the Gaui 12a ESC? Or how to set them?

I just tracked it down last night, took a while to find, suprised gaui didn't include it in the kit, or have instructions on their website.
Anyway here is what I found:
http://www.elisanet.fi/mnentwig/webroot/GAUI_SAE12A/index.html
I didn't have to set it, it's defaulted to none gov, lipo, and soft start? I don't think it has lipo cutoff, so be careful :)

I think that goes for most of us - even if we can't spell Google ;-)
Here is a link to the manual

And here is a PDF with both sets of information:

Lol
Is this something that everyone with this ESC should do or should it already be set properly from the factory on a 200se kit?

I read somewhere before that they were already set, and that there is no need to change it. So when I got mine up and running, I didn't touch the esc programing and it works fine :)

Mine was set at the factory ready to go but, I accidently engaged the ESC programming while tinkering with it and I didnt know for sure what changes I had made. So, I thought I'd better restore to original settings!

hey guys, someone got the heat issue witht his esc? Mine get hot. i think that the cause of cutoff power. even on low rpm. like spin cut spin cut etc. i'm using thunder power lipo 3S 910mAh.
i just measure the temp its like 50 degree celsius.

While I was downloading this, I did notice a couple of things...
First, on the website....

AAARRFF!!!
It's finally happend folks, for once, even I, will not touch this one..... :rolling:rolling
Second, Found the shaft upgrade to the standard 200 http://flying-hobby.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=3_5_9&products_id=2565
Can't tell for sure, but It may be possible the CNC tail will fit on this as well. $55, OMG, I've like so gotta get a grip on the heli budget...... ;-)

"...UPS guy is really questioning my sanity lately..."
I know what you mean! My situation is opposite. My desk is at the front door of our office where a receptionist would normally sit, and I have my half-built Gaui and its many parts and and tools scattered all over (a pox on the boss. Wait, I am the boss.), and while the UPS guy, who it seems is delivering new toys almost every day, pays no visible attention (no telling what he tells his girlfriend), our mailman has gotten TOTALLY interested in the little creature and virtually stops his rounds whenever he sees progress, which, I admit, has been slow. So I'm explaining in my first-grader way what's going on with each step, and he, like, GETS IT. Which means he's either bright or bent or both. Any day now I'll have it flying. Pretty fun.

Ha! Surf, you made my day!!
Sounds like you're well on your way to permanent insanity like the rest of us..
I almost fell out of my chair on this one..
Thanks again for the good reads.

Not to ignore you, Xflames,
More knowledgable folks than me may soon reply, but I'll take a shot at this.
I've had hot esc's before, I worry more about the batteries.
If it is a hardware failure, I can only imagine a bad esc or motor.
...also seen lot's of vents cut into canopies. Could you need more airflow for cooling? 55c is not really that hot...
...and, maybe your're just flying harder than most of us!....

did you change the pinion size when using 3s? i'm assuming you using the stock motor?

check your gear mesh and belt tightness, for the gear mesh, take a sliver of the pastic baggies your parts come in and place it between your main gear and pinion gear if it dont go you mesh is too tight, if it is very loose then you need to tighten your mesh, you dont want your pinion to be pressed solid against your main gear.
for the belt make sure its not overly tight
make sure head spins semi freely and nothing is binding on the head.

thanks guys.
the head is spinning very freely. i think the gaui is dead due of the pinion. I forget to consider the head speed with the 3S and teeth pinion. I was using gaui 200 motor with 15T with 3S. i may burned the esc. I tried to use 7.4 2S lipo. same result. anyways helidirect tell me to send it back and get a replacement. I bought a Thunder power 2S and i wont mess up this time lol.
thanks guys.
is the TP going to fit in the frame? YOu should have just bought a gaui 2s pack.
Hopefully the motor is okay. What are the joints like on the esc. Are you sure they are soldered?

the pro lite TP lipo are all 34mm, it won't fit. either 2 or 3 cells.
everything look fine. it was flying good until the other day i flew longer to setup the tail. other time i flew like near 1min. that's why it doesn burn or something like that.
I hope the motor is good. i think so. the joints is fine. i flew it before it happened. when i get my new 2mm connectors i will use that instead. the stock connector on the motor and esc are tooo slim. look veyr fragile.

Doh!
I rechecked my math, 50c is way too hot. With a little luck you just cooked the esc.
I had to same question too, about the wire gauges to the esc, but now that I've gotten to looking at mine, I guess it does'nt matter.
As the unit comes with the battery plug installed, GAUI has chosen the wire guage for us.
Hope your motor is okay...

no smell or anything from motor and esc. i think i just cook the esc. i will get a replacement from helidirect. gaui should made a battery tray like trex for lipo or an upgrade part.

Hear! Hear! Don't know about the "should," but I'd love it if they did. Better stock canopy mounts, too, although at least these are available in the aftermarket.
