Is there any potential issue with sustained inverted hover and the turbine exhaust heating up the main blades?

Hey,

No, non what so ever mate. If anything your more like to generate more heat going into the rotors right way up as you are inverted, in my Predator Turbines case inverted the exhaust is then above the main rotors and not under it.
Also having said all the above, while inflight with the down wash of the blades any exhaust heat is being blown away anyway.

Some scale machines perhaps could suffer and I have read the odd story in the past of the main blades bubbling from the exhausts heat going direct into the rotors, but not so much on pod & boom examples.

Thanks
The Wren 44 size heli turbine has my interest for when it comes out.
It is not at the top of my wish list yet, but it is high on the wish list.

I am hoping that the 44 will be light enough to just "drop" into a 90 size ship.

Scale does not interest me at all, If I stay right side up for more than a half minute at a time, I might explode.

Jeff,
My understanding is that sometime this spring the MW44 will be released with the 2nd stage and gearbox matched. Chris Bergen has plans to install it in their Intrepid Magnum 90. The "44 Magnum" -- Should be a treat ! This will be my intro into the turbine world. I cant wait !

I was kind of going down the same road to see if it would be realistic to stuff it into one of my Stinger 90's. All I would be looking at is the cost of the turbine and some odds and end parts to be up with a turbine heli.

David Ellison would be delighted I'm sure to have a Turbine Stinger 90 flying around. We just have to hurry up and wait now !!
