PC Cable Interface for Esky 0404 Xmitter?

I just purchased a Honey Bee MkIII (fixed pitch) from Hobby Lobby and want to use the model 0404 xmitter with one or more simulators. I talked w/Hobby Lobby and they said that the 'trainer' connector on the back of the unit is a dummy connector and is not functional. I emailed milehighwings who sells interface cables and they said it is operational and that they have a cable for it. Does anyone know what the real scoop is? And if it is operational, where can I get the best deal for a cable. Thanks in advance.
