Hi,

Any idea where to get one ? With 4 blades and the stock tail my 450 spins quite happily once I hit about 50% throttle. I have a bit of room to tweak but not enough to really matter.

Hi ddragon

For what I know, in real helicopter like:
Apache AH-64A/B/C/D
Super Cobra AH-1Z
Some MD-500E

uses a cascade type of tail rotor. The tail blades are distance of less than 90Degre apart in order to reduce noise. Apache is 55Degree. I not sure about MD-500E but looking at the picture, it is more than 55Degree but less than 90Degree.

Here is my MD-500E tail rotor. Oh Yeah, the tail spin downward just like the real one. So do the main rotor hub which is 5 bladed head and spin Counterclockwise. (no recent photo..sorry. But I try to take a new one).

The 4 blade tail on the full size 500 in the pic must be some sort of modification to that particular aircraft. I don't recall ever seeing one with anything other than 2 blade.

I believe it's an option on the later E models to lower noise levels. I have seen several E's with the 4 blade tail.

I've been reading your thread with great interest, since I'm considering trying a multi-blade head on my TRex. What size blades are you running on this? I was thinking that using the original 305s might minimize the torque effects you're seeing with the tail, but if you're already there...

Great thread! Good luck!
