yeah...bob has no love for the Hurri...he doesn't hide that at all.. if he had a CF kit to setup I think he'd change his mind.. but unless someone gets a kit for him, he won't spend a dime on the heli.. if I had the money to blow, I'd do it.. instead I have those annoying little things that come up.. kids breaking arms... wife having yet another birthday (seems like she had one of those last year...) kids thinking that we have to eat everyday... you know.. silly stuff like that.

He has a Logo now :)
I think that the Hurri is a really nice heli! But this Heli isn't a 3D machine. Even if you put a lot of money into tuning. Bob got one of the first Hurris, and there were a few issues. That's why I always ask which version makes trouble? Forget version 1... version 2 is really nice but have a look at your swash. Version 3 is with new swash and Esc with heat sink is pretty cool. The last real issue are weak bearings and too expensive CNC parts. Anyway, I like my Hurri and there's no other heli with this size and that prize!

it might not be a out of the box 3D machine..but it can be made into one...all it takes is a look at Justin Chi and him flying his Hurri to see that it can do all the hard core 3D tricks.. if that's what you're looking for. I'm not... to me 3D looks like the heli is having a seizure in flight.. I like the graceful flight of FAI/F3C and the Hurri is just a step towards the larger heli's that are used in that discipline..if I want to see a heli flipping all over the place, I'll just hand my sim over to my 4 year old daughter.. she can flip and roll and piro all at the same time and not crash... until she tries to land it :D of course she has no idea what she's doing on the sim.. but it's fun for her and that makes me happy.

yea its easy to make a hurricane a 3d machine... put some 3300 packs on there with the 1100kv motor and it flies like a rocket lol

No... I don't think that even with upgrades it's an hardcore 3D machine. You're right, hurri flys like a rocket with the right engine. And it has a great weight-performance ratio.
And of course Bob has a problem with his heli. He never wrote something against hurris in general or owners. The main point was that he was alpha or beta tester (that's what early hurricane buyers were).

Klaus.. I wanted to say thanks for making the hurri models for heli-x.. it was real twicty at first but I'm getting used to it now.. and if the real heli flies smoother than the sim, then it should be a joy to fly...

Bearwood,
Absolutely correct, there are downsides to everywhere. It's just that we cant think of any ha ha ha. No really, we do have mosquitoes but I can't remember the last time I was bitten. There are jelly fish in the sea at certain times of the year, but I have never been stung. Beer does get warm after a while, but I don't drink (really!) Shorts and sandles to work, no real hardship for me. Sunglasses all year round, yep! The monsoon rains do come, but they go away again!
The real down side. Heli parts are hard to come by, work gets in the way of flying, there are always deadlines and the money isn't great.......we learnt to live with it along time ago....what do we call ugly women here? Tourists!
JB, you wouldn't by any chance have holiday work for a univ student, would you? :D Great spot you've got there! Here're some snap-shots of the area surrounding my HQ (aka home), also a relatively nice place ;) (albeit a bit over-developed) Regards, Ed

Hi!
Thanks for your kind words! I hope you're using the updated version from model download section! Tail is still a problem with all my hurris in Heli-X. The red and blue (normal) hurris have a little bit less power than my setup. Would be more like a 980kV motor. If you can fly the extreme edition you'll have no problem in reality :)
I'm testing a new version of heli-x the last few evenings. Multiplayer flying makes real fun!! Hope it's out in the near future so we can fly together...

yep.. I'm flying the extreme version.. and it's slowly getting better. One thing I would like to see added to Heli-X is adjustable pitch and throttle curves.. expo would be nice too.. let us know as soon as the new version is released.. multiplayer would be very fun.

You could try to sent Michael an email. Have a look at the homepage for contact data. Perhaps he wants some oversea tester... but I think he's busy solving issues with the multiplayer mode.
