Is it normal for the tail gyro and servos to be so jittery - even when at rest?
This is my first heli with a HH Gyro. Stock Eflite G110

Im still new at this. But i believe its normal. The tail servo is digital and they are always centering over and over again.Thats the noise that you hear.Maybe a vet can chime in and explain it better.

Yep, digital servos will usually give off a constant hum, and the stock servos on the B400 are especially bad with twitching. If the tail is visibly twitching back and forth when the machine is spooled up, you'll need to go into your gyro menu and, turn down the gain. The servos are the first upgrades I'd get for this machine, too. I'm running JR DS285s on the cyclic and a 3400G on the tail. They make the machine feel a lot more precise and solid, and won't strip so easily when you crash.

This won't address the jitters at neutral stick, but it does address sevo noise at the extreme.
The link ball was mounted too far out on the servo arm - about 12mm from center. The servo was hitting the limits of travel and was buzzing. Moved the to ball to 7mm from center. No binding at the limits.
We will see how it flies. I suspect it was out that far because it is easier to assemble. Would have been nice if the gyro offered travel limit adjustments.
Thanks for the replies.

I also am new at this.I was wondering which servo I could put in place of the stock tail servo on my Blade 400.I am considering a GY401 gyro.

Well i got an extra boom mount so that i wouldn't have it so cramped in there. It sure looks and works better.

From what I understand, if you get the DSP75 servo & programmer you can set the endpoints in the servo.
