Hi butters149,

after having trimmed the swash to be at least almost level, You will be able to fly it.
If You keep it about 8-10 second in stable hoover, You press the button You have assigned to the auto-trimm (and You have set the channel in the HC to accept this I presume). The light on the top will flicker red I believe to signal that it sees You want to auto-trimm. It immediately takes the settings in which You have been keeping the swash level as the new trimming. So if it floats to the right, You have kept it with a left-aileron signal to hoover stable. The amount of left aileron is now added to the swash as the new level of horizontal flying. That's it.

But You need that direct channel to be connected. I used the PC interface to program the input to be 'auto-trimm" as it does not do so at default.
So two channels are needed for the hc in this case. One to adjust the pilot input, one to adjust the aux input.

Hope this helps,

Ruud

Ruud said it pretty clearly.

No, you don't need the gain channel plugged in once you have it dialed in.

Hi,
it is not possible to connect the Gyro Adjust to the receiver if you use Auto-Trim.

You can use either Auto Trim OR Gyro Adjust on the AUX cable.

Torsten - Nice to see you here! :)

I'm not sure what you've said is correct .... In the 'Tail Gyro' tab you can set the function of the AUX channel .... and there is one option marked 'Autotrim and gyro mode'. If you then look at the 'Diagnose' tab you will see that at minimum % the gyro will be in rate mode, at mid % the gyro will be in heading hold mode, and at full % it will engage the autotrim function ...

FWIW, I'm only using the AUX channel for the autotrim function, and I've set up a mixer on my transmitter so at one % it engages the autotrim (via a separate switch), and in the rest of the range it moves my shutter servo - works perfectly and saves me a channel!

Cheers,

David :)

I do AP with my Trex600E and HC3A, I used to fly above 100 meters to take my photos.
