I am not sure what the canopy is made of will my Lexan/polycarbonate sprays that I use on my Trex 450 canopy hold, or do I have to go our and buy plastic spray?
Thanks.

I too am trying to find out what paint to use on my stock canopy. Has anyone tried to paint their stock canopy?
THanks,
Leo

I tried the polycarbonate sprays and they come off really easy, so I had to use clear laquer to hold them. I would go for the Tamiya plastic sprays.

OK the plastic primer must be the trick.

Yeah... and a fine paper for the primer! I would not use it for the paint...

i used pactra polycarbonate paint on mine, but was sure to scuff the shit out of it with a green scotch brite pad and wash it well with denatured. i've found that the pactra paint will stick to almost anything if it's prepped well, and has to be sanded or scuffed. otherwise it'll come off in sheets.

I use a Quick Dry Enamel spray can from the Hardware store. Same stuff the kids use to Graffiti the Town.
Just need to get rid of the mould release on the plastic to give the paint something to stick to. I sand the plastic with 600 wet&dry paper but use it dry.You probably should use an undercoat but the paint I am using doesn't need it.
Masking is the trick that I havn't learnt yet. I believe a Liquid Mask is the best way to go and then remove the parts you need to paint.
http://www.cfxpaintworks.com/index.php has some great tips and how to sections. The Car Guys are painting Lexan and painting the inside of the body but most of the principles are the same.
Practice, patience and more practice.
