I ran into a gotcha the other day while testing the Tazer.
I added the Spektrum system to my trusty old 10sx Tx and the 7 channel Rx onto the Tazer last week. Flew it without problem for 3 or 4 flights.
On Thursday, I flew it once in the morning, then was going to let Rusty fly it again that afternoon. It spooled up a little then shut down. Jockeyed the throttle a little bit, it spooled up then shut down again. Subsequent attempts were no better, sometimes it spooled sometimes it didn't.
Tried changing the batteries from FP 5000, to the FP Evolite 5350's. Now the CC HV 110 wouldn't even initialize....Great, I must have fried the ESC flying in the snowstorm that morning.
I then noticed the red light flashing on the HV110. That must mean something, so I went to the CC website for the troubleshooting codes. They did not have a code for "constant flashing", but it made me think about the radio signal.
Remembering then that I never did bind the TX and Rx together because it worked right out of the package!! Yea, I know, you have to bind it to set the failsafe after setting up the heli, but we were excited to test out the flying characteristics with the 2.4 system, and figured we'd do it later.....
To the point, after binding the system per the instructions, the HV110 initialized properly, and we were able to continue test flying the Tazer.
Why we were able to fly it for 3-4 flights is beyond me, then why it quit working all of a sudden......
Lesson learned, as this is my first 2.4 system, but wanted to pass it on just in case....:)
