I`ve been shooting a few videos but I just got my new URBI in the mail and now I can finally take some stills. I`m running a 600 Trex with Radix blades, Minipro 1 mount and a Canon S5iS. I can rattle off about 200+ photos per 6 minute flight. This is kind of addicting!

Just a simple brightness and contrast adjustment with any photo editing program can really make your AP pics pop with color!

mate, if you were caught flying over peoples houses in Australia you would be in jail before you could blink and your chopper would be taken away from you.

That`s all right. I don`t live in `Stralia and the house I might have been over (If even I was) was Skiddz`s house who combined with myself have more helis than most third world counties have in their air force!

That's a BAD (@44) Shot..
Keep up the good work!!
I remember my first photo shoot with the heli cam..
Dodging Cars, Flying over Houses,, Chasing superman,,, Giving the Tooth fairy a Lift,,
Went home. Cleaned up the Chopper,, Charged the Lipos,,, :smokin:
I love Texas!!! The USA is a Great Place for the expansion of creativity..
Don't know about Austrialia,, but I would Def move to Texas if your wanting a place where Life, Liberty, and Fun is the standard. Ohio,USA, well that sounds more like Austrailia. To many local regulations..
Atleast in Texas if someone were to call the cops because you were flying a Heli.
I think they would be arrested for waisting the phone call. :YeaBaby:

I was at the intersection on Interstate 30 in caddo Mills Texas flying the TREX600N /E shooting photos and Video over the Freeway trying to get some Cool Highway shots,, There was Texas State Trooper, and local Police Office watching me fly. It pretty much turned into a conversation about, how much do they cost, Where'd ya get em from.. etc...
I launched the TREX600N in Irving Texas Saturday flying through the power line obstacle course,, There was a rep from every agency State and Local there..
I think the word I'm looking for is (Impressed).. I hate power lines, but hey,, I'll fly anywhere..
I also shot the TREX600E around a shopping center in Rockwall Texas weekend before last, Lots of spectators,, I'm not tooting my own horn on my flying capabilities, I just merely pointing out the fact that Flying in Texas is pretty liberal.
When I go to Iraq in August,, You might hear about me flying over there,,
I have a proto type mount that collapses. Fits nicely in the Foot locker,,
I wanna be the first kid on my block to shoot a TREX600 or Maxi Joker 2 over Bagdad,, :YeaBaby:

Yo0ur "freedon" to fly wherever you like runs the real risk of screwing up freedom for everyone else. Don't you ever worry about that?

Yes it would screw it up for everyone else if the birds starting falling from the sky,
That's why a good pre flight, some comman sence, and respect comes in.
with the program I have for maintenance, prefilght, and logged flight time and maintenance hours spent.:YeaBaby:
No crashes in over a hundred flights and loven it!!!
I have had an occassional boom strut flop
I bought a torque wrench that does In/Lbs. I bought all the P1,2,3,4, Adapters and the 1.5mm 2.0mm 2.5 mm 3.0 mm etc adapters, Mapped the helis with weak spots, or vibration affected areas, No Problems,,
On Blade pitch, Lipos, TX voltage,, All on the preflight,,
I guess if you missed anyone of those aspects, you might cause some damage to the hobby politically,,,
I've looked on Hlifreak for a good Preflight check list, haven't found one. I made one that's kept me out of trouble so far and saved m some Denarios,(Cash)...
I know at this point a good preflight would confuse the novice, but all the Cool stuff that's out there has some anal-retentiveness, And I think Helis being the hardest RC product / Hobby / Sport / in existance should come with a lessons learned train of thought. I beleive that anything from the .30 ot TREX600 class Heli should be Mandatory by LHS's to have a brief safety class. At-least a 5 minute discussion on safety factors.

I wouldn`t fly over my cul-de-sac if I didn`t have cool neighbors. Skiddz flys helis also, one neighbor was a Marine Harrier pilot, one is literally a rocket scientist for Boeing and another is a retired Air Force F4 test pilot. We occasionally hover in the middle @ about 10ft for minor adjustments ONLY when nobody is outside. This is the only time I have done this because I wanted a pic of my house. We have a flying field less than 3 minutes down the road.

Randall, care to share your pre-flight checklist with us all? It has got to be a good thing to get everyone thinking along the same lines. I have been unable to find one anywhere either.

That's a sweet shot. Looks like the heli was over the lawn next to my driveway. I hope the shrubs weren't in danger. :)
Oh, and you forgot to mention in addition to the other pilots on the street, I'm a commercially rated heli pilot as well. :)
EDIT: Forgot to mention the ex-Harrier pilot flies for American Airlines too.
