Things have been going so well!
I took the training gear off during the week, and had 4 batteries through the heli and no problems at all. I usually fly at a soccer field near my house which currently has no snow on it.
Then today I went to the club field about 10km away, and it still has 4" of snow on it. So I stamped down a landing pad around 8' diameter, which I thought was huge based on how tight I can normally keep a hover. Anyway, flew around for 9 mins, had a great time, got it up nice and high and flew some reasonably high speed circuits (for the first time ever) and things were going great. Twice during the flight I bought it into a low hover over my landing patch just to make sure I was OK with that, and no problem. Anyway, end of the flight I brought it in, and just as I was descending to land, I started drifting off to the side. I didn't correct quickly enough or climb out and have another go (I think I just relaxed and switched off the brain before it was fully on the ground!), and one skid dug into the soft snow and she tipped over with power on. :arggg:
Here are some photos of the damage. Any suggestions on parts I should check for damage other than the obvious - eg. head, main rotor shaft, flybar, tail boom?
Blades look OK so if I can't see any problems with them is it safe to fly with them again?
Thanks,
Ant
PS: Good news for you potential beginners looking for long flight time - my previous flight times were including training gear. Now I have removed it I am getting 9 mins and staying under 4000 Mah consumption on my 5000 Mah batts.
