Old Rotorhead

I have a question I can't seem to wrap my head around. I have an elec. heli I am setting up that does not have the motor wires marked or color coded. Normal procedure as I understand it is to plug it in, and if it spins the wrong way, reverse any two wires. Correct? What about the one way bearing? If the motor rotation is the wrong way does the bearing get damaged? Is there another easier way? Thank for your help.

A quick spin up won't hurt anything, but for safety's sake I'd still scoot the motor out on it's mount a bit and away from the main gear just in case. Also, depending on your speedo, some esc's will let you reverse direction via their software, so it really doesn't matter how the motor's plugged in.

I just spin it up. It is pretty obvious when the main blades don't turn.

And this is what the one way does. Just don't sit there for several minutes trying ti figure things out. :)
