The AUW of the mount less camera is 37oz, compare that to say an AirFoilPro1 at 72oz. I designed the mount to handle anything from my a640 up to my nikon d200, but more importantly i designed it for HD video work.

Because of the HD video work i wanted to pay close attention to vibration isolation. The mount features 3 points of isolation. First were the boom connect to the frame is isolated by small dampening pads. Second and most noticeable is were the mount attaches to the boom i have larger dampening pods, and finally where the pan wheel connects to the static part of the mount is isolated by blue vibration dampeners.

The mount is 3axis with gyro on roll. Currently with my a640 and wide angle lens attached i am slightly tail heavy with the batteries at there location.

Maybe this will be the last iteration of the mount...?.... doubtfull:D
Since this was done in 3d my next mount will be CNC cut instead of entirely cut by hand.

I'm working one in AutoCad that's Super strong, light weight, Breaks down in second, goes together in seconds.
I'd love to put mine together,
The one that you have posted looks good,,
Nice Job. My CF 2.75 lb platform on the 600 is ok.
MJ2's are where the sights are set..

Thanks. The mount breaks down real quick as well, i remove 2 pins, pull the booms out of the holders. Then i remove 4 wingnuts and the mount is now off of the booms. Its light but the next version will be lighter, and slightly smaller. I figure i can get it down under 30oz, but this version is a working prototype.

How quick does your roll correction work? Gearing?

Looks nice. Would be cool to see a little Youtube vid of the mount panning/tilting/rolling.

I dont have they gyro setup on roll yet and i forget the gear ratio but it i'll let you know when i find out. I have been busy this weekend laying up fiberglass making a ball for the mount. the 11.5" hamster ball i bought weight 2.5lbs. So i used it as a mold and was able to make a ball waying 10oz total.

I'll finish getting the mount wired up over the next couple of days and post a video of it in action.
