I haven't finished my first nitro build yet, but from what I've been able to gather, 18% would be the bare minimum for oil. 20% would be better.

I'm using it. The lubricant is thicker so less content is required than those fuels with thinner lubricant. This means you need to run the needle a little further out (the fuel is thicker) but means a whole lot less smoke is produced.

Non better that I have used to date and I have been using it since 1995 or so, of course it's made not to far from here.

Hmm...I'll have to consider it for when I'm ready for the maiden. I assume it would be OK in an OS 50 Hyper? The thought of less smoke is appealing. I'm not sure how available it is in my neck of the woods, though.

I'm running it on the hyper. I used to use Magnum and that was like a fog machine compared to Wildcat

Not to morph this into a "what's the best fuel" thread, but have you tried the Cool Power 30% Low-Smoke heli fuel? I'm pretty sure I can get it at my LHS. According to Morgan's website, It uses high viscosity oil but at 20%, so I'm wondering how low smoke it could be.

In any case, I'll probably be over at my LHS next weekend (we pretty much have a standing date), so I'll ask what fuels he carries.

Yes... just finishing the build here soon too, and wondering the same.....Which fuel???
A friend on mine here locally is a Wildcat Rep. which could mean less $......he says, "bring it!"
wondered about the Magnum and Cool Power Tho.....
LHS has WC and CP.....
Should I wait awile after breakin before concidering 30%? just have to adj. needle?
Good Idea to start out lower %(nitro content)
stick with 20% oil? as a concensous...........
I have a bit of stock of the WCat 20% w/18 %oil fuel used for the 'ol Venture....is this OK for breakin???
Being I'v only ever used WCat fuel, any recomendations out there according to smoke and oily buildup on heli?
BTW, I like a LITTLE smoke!..... makes for a cool Snake shape Tail Slide!!!! stuff like that.....

I use the Wildcat 30% Helimix because it's the only 30% fuel I can get within a reasonable distance from where I live.

I can't compare it to anything else but it sure does seem to smoke quite a bit to me.

I just love the Wildcat Helimix!! My local hobby shop can not keep it on the shelf. On the other hand, I do use the Cool Power 30% when I can not get my hands on Wildcat Helimix!!!

Magnum is the most smokey fuel I have seen. I also have a few reports that Coolpower has fibres in it - they can be found in the fuel filter and engine. Not sure they do any harm but I was surprised to hear about it.

Run the engine in using whatever fuel you plan to run once it's tuned.

Also I don't thin you will get any less smoke than Wildcat pumps out - its very minimal compared to other fuels.
