well, doesn't look like i can make it either.. my dad decided to go out of town :(

and i got an idea (a stupid one of course ;) ) but you guys should carpool and make it down here to fly sometime
there's a HUGE dry lake bed where we could fly all day and not get kicked out.. and if any of you guys have real planes, you could fly down and land on the lake bed (or the airport next to it)

and sean, thanks for the map :)

How about next saturday? The 17th? OH I got my problems sorted out, a bad set of blades(trashed because of bad autos:P) I think I am the king of autoing in my street! I did one insanely high! Like i had to have been over 500 feet up!

well, i just got some flying in... it kinda sucked because i wasn't really 'feeling' it very much and it was pretty dark so when you get below 10' you can't see it at all which is why i crashed..
i got it on video, but not sure i should post it.

i have to wait til i go to my moms to upload it.....arg.. i downloaded the free trail of nero to make cd of some school stuff and you can't uninstall it!!!! it won't let you upload pics, vids, etc.. on to your computer until you buy it  i hate nero.

but after watching the vids, i can say that they suck (except some of the piro flips) i was not on the ball today.. to many factors. to dark, wasn't feeling it, got a new perscription of contacts today, and a new brand of contacts.... so i may just wait until this weekend or something to make a vid.

and to top it all off i missed an AWESOME deal because i went flying.... sent the guy a pm and then went flying..when i got back it sold already :(

oh, and this new new scorpion -6 v2 motor has barely any power compared to the v1 :( it bogs very easy.

Yeah that was a great deal if you like the Mars... Didn't you say your -6 v1 bogged too? I hope you are wrong about the v2 I just got one.

Man I am going through my 450 SE V2 setup right now. Was I ever a newbie. I never set my radio pitch curve to 50 straight across so I wasn't trully at midstick ever. When I went to look at it now for the first time since my build I noticed to get the servo horns at 90° I have to be at +25 subtrims. I found two servo horns that work to get me 12 and 10 subtrim but I may have to go buy a third tomorrow. Can you imagine I did my first inverted hover on this thing too! No wonder nose in was so freaking hard to learn!

Tyler this is all your fault for not telling me I am idiot.

Sorry to hear some of you guys can't make it. The weekend is looking to be really nice. I finally got my heli back in the air today, after completely resetting the head with Mike's swash tool. That thing's a wonder Mike. Used that with my other special tool(shhhh don't tell Bob) and she hovered beautifully. I didn't get a chance to track the blades though...'cause they were already perfect!:) LoL. I wish I could keep my weekend rotation at work to match this weekend, but the boss likes it when I'm there on her weekends, so I'm not sure. If we do like a big, planned fun fly in the future I'll request the weekend off, that way I'll know for sure I can make it. If anyone needs specific directions PM either HeliSmith, poptart or me and we'll set you up.

Thanks
-Marty

That's cool Scott do what you have to do. We will have more and the nice thing is no matter where we meet it will be right here by home...

We are thinking of a way to get a field. The most important thing is to just do little meets until we have an AMA sanctioned playground. We have set some basic goals and are working to accomplish them.

Cut off early so I would have time to charge a lipo. Forgot last night and I am close to lift off.

I over-discharged an AT down to 8.02v working on the Trex. ooops. Should be fine still.

Mike, good news for you :)

i think i found why my scorpion -6 is so weak....
i just remembered that my lipos have quite a bit of time on them  that's probably it...
won't know for sure until i get some new ones though.
as soon as that 2 kong power lipos and charger deal gets back in stock at readyheli i will buy some. :)

and i hate flying when it's getting dark (have to wait for my dad to get home to drive me).. almost crashed again today so i just landed before i did.. i will wait until the weekend.
the weather here has been BEAUTIFUL!!!! it's kind of freaking me out... there hasn't been so much as a breeze here for the 3 days?
it's wierd because normaly it's at least 20mph every day. i am getting lucky. and the forcast shows that it will be this nice all weekend even! :YeaBaby:

Tyler, don't order from evil readyheli! Remember that they are shipping from Florida and Wes is only in Pasadena! Do the right thing dude, order from Modefos:)

I just hovered my -6 V2 motor and the motor is definately putting out. Something is off though at 60% swash I am only getting -/+ 10°. I dumped full collective 3 times and the climb rate was a lot less than what I am used to. I was prepared to poop myself the first time. The last time I gave it a bit of a slow rising start and just DUMPED it. Tail kicked a little but not the climb rate I will be needing.

I setup my heli with a swash tool going to try removing the travels. Anyone else on a SE V2 what are you getting at 60% swash settings?

I forget what I have my swash set at. I just go for maximum pitch without binding. Somethings wrong if your climb out is slow. I can look over it on Saturday if you want.

I have Martin and Jason stopping by tonight. The idea is to look at Jason's heli but I think I am going to have them look at my pitch settings. I am far sighted I have great eye sight far away but I can't focus close up.

I figured out my problem. I had 70% throttle curve for my SE V2 because I was running governor. It screams now. Martin and Jason are here they were very impressed too. Had it bolted to the coffee table.

Yeah it vibrated some screws out pretty weird it didn't seem to have a vibration. Neat loctite test lol

CHARGE YOUR RADIOS GUYS.

It looks a little windy Saturday. Sunday will be even better. I will fly in the wind but I won't do anything crazy. Play it by ear and if it is too windy I will just putz around and go back out Sunday.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 75. Breezy, with a northeast wind 21 to 24 mph decreasing to between 9 and 12 mph. Winds could gust as high as 31 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46. Northeast wind around 9 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 70. South wind between 11 and 14 mph becoming light.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 45.
