Do it, I love my T500. BTW grandrc.com has a great combo builder on their page, great prices... Never mind the grandrc stuff you are working with HH right?

Yeah I have the 2 x 450 helis, 1 x 600N and yeah that's my package from HeliHobby. I am totally building a nice collection.

Yeah I am working with HH but Nikki, manager from HeliHobby, straight hooks people up. You have to ask for her and hold if you have to though. She doesn't just price match she price pounds. :D

I checked with Martin and the 28th will probably work. Jason V. I am sure you can make it too yeah?

I might have a problem with my governor sensor on my 600NSP I can see something was rubbing the sensor badly. I need to mount it up with no fan shroud and have a look tonight.

I will fire it up tomorrow with no blades by my pad to really please my neighbors. :) My hot start very well could have been my governor sensor as I see no problem with my throttle setup.

MIke,

Firing it up with no blades is not a good idea.

If it overspeeds (which it will if the governor is bad and there are not blades/no load on it), it will, more than likely throw the tail blades off and possibly self destruct (I have seen people do this with dire results).

Put the blades on it and tach it, or just check the RPM by feel/sound (I am confident that you can do this).

Sorry to but in, but I don't want to see you get hurt or lose the machine.

Yes I am definitely with Richard on this one. Jut throw the blades on it. And you really don't need a gov anyway if its not working. For a while I ran min without one and if you have a good curve, it can fly better than with a gov.

I actually posted on the thread to hear from you Richard. Thanks for the word up. Thanks for seconding it Sean.

I don't have tail blades on a bird I fire up without main blades though. That's a way to get a face full of tail. :)

Mike,

Congratulations on the TREX 500!

Plastichead,

I am going to try to get to the Rosebowl this afternoon (probably around 3:00 to 4:00 PM).

Sean,

Nice flying in the video the other day.

Mike,

I'm building my 500 at the moment. Same set up you've got except for the 9257 on the tail, I'm running 9650 all the way around for now since I'm far from being a crazy 3d flier. Down the line, I probably go with the Spartan 760. Remember to get the extension for the front 2 servos as the wire on the 9650 is very short. I'm awaiting for the arrival of Rick's plexan battery & receiver/gyro mounts and would hope to finish by no later than tomorrow. During the frame and servos installation, I replaced the regular flat washer with the special washer and also had the servo plate installed to the inside of the frame on the elev. servo. I also added black wire protector. For now, I'm running 2x3S and I have two sets of battery so I'm looking at 12 minutes total fly time. So far I'm out $934, including the batteries and the AR6200. The AR6200 was a buy one get one free from Horizon.

I spoke to Fireup last Saturday at Arbor and instead of going crazy with grounding, I'm just going to ground the motor to the tail boom as suggested by Kevin.

On a side note, I solved the tail problem with the 450SE, and this morning, I'd a fire which totally destroyed the esc on the 450SA. I'm going to have to make a trip up from Redondo one of these days to meet you guys since I'm in the middle of SCVHC and them OCMA freaks!

Martin can you make the 28th?

Yeah I can make it on the 28th, but I can't stay very long. Just found out I have a family reunion thing to go to, so I'm thinking I'll stay for about an hour. Man I wish I wasn't so busy, but I'm trying to get myself back in order so I can go back to school hopefully next year. I'm probably gonna have to limit flying to only once or twice a week for now too, but I'll definitely try to make it to any events we have.

Thanks guys

Ben,

Awesome information on the grounding that makes a lot of sense to me. Also I figured I'd need some servo extenders glad you reinforced that.

Sorry to hear about your ESC failure don't buy another Align one. :D I gave mine away lol

Martin,

You are making the smart choices my friend.

Nitro is back! :D Installed the new clutch and went through everything. Also installed the pin flag switch I am very pleased no more messing with the canopy on the heli pad.

Figured out why I hot started I think I am tired though and only messed with it a little.

I managed nine flights at the RB yesterday. Not too many people there (some kind of Circus going on inside). Three flights on 600E, six on 450 SAE (SA with SE frames).

Very nice afternoon/evening, little to no wind, good visibility.

Mike, glad to hear your 600N is back up and ready.

Wow Richard sweet man I haven't done that many flights in umm wow ever. I think my record is 11 on the 450.

Decided to fly later or not at all today as I want to knock out the Trex 500 build. It is an easy build I will tell you that much.
