It is supposed to do the beeps. That is not a problem.

Cool! I not going to mess around with the esc then. BTW, my AR6200 is super sensitive. The slightest of movement during the battery connection would prevent it from initialize before the gyro does. Also, I'm running Evo25 2x3s one on top of the other and they fit nicely under the canopy. I also have a pairs of Outrage 2500 30C and had to put them side-by-by to fit under the canopy. Fireup confirmed, and also what Mike did, is to connect one ends of the ground wire to the motor mounting plate.

The 500 is such a nice size between the 450 and 600. Perfect for flying at the Babe Ruth baseball field or empty school yard.

Moving the heli should not effect the AR6200

I've another 6200 on the 450SE and it is not as sensitive as the one on the 500.

They should not be sensative at all.

What are you talking about sensitivity? The RX does not sense movement. . .

Ben,

You may have a loose connection, servo lead powering the RX or battery input lead. I have never had a problem with the RX intiailizing after the gyro even before I did the firmware update. One known issue with the Specktrum TX/RX is if you do not turn off the TX before reintializing the RX sometimes it doesn't connect right. So always cycle the TX with the RX.

Mike,

I have six, 2100 Mah, 16C batteries (used with the TREX, etc.).

If I put these in series, will they work in a TREX 500?

Thank you in advance.

I'm going to check the wire from the esc to the throttle plug on the rx b/c this was not an issue when I set the servos using a rx battery. I took a break from work and completed the grounding. I'm going to program the tx and then perform a failsafe and hopefully take her out for a test fly later this afternoon.

I think they are a little low on the amps Richard. You can try it if it gets super hot heli or batteries then you know. :P

The motor in my 500 gets really hot(500L) Its like over 180 degrees, even Sean says it gets hot.

Honestly Scott, I doubt it gets over 150. It just feels hot. Get a temp gauge and see what its really getting up to. At least your packs aren't getting hot.

If the motor is getting "too" hot but the batteries are fine it isn't a solder weld problem or insufficient battery for the job. Does your head spin very very freely? Main gear mesh? What did you set your motor timing at?

His heli is very free. Same with the gear mesh. I don't know what the esc timing is though. That could be causing the problems though. Bet my 600e that the real cause is the ambient temperature. We went flying mid day when it was 98 degrees

High timing.

Try mid timing.

High timing.

Well thats most likely your problem. You only need it at medium timing and you won't see a significant drop in power. It should bring your temps down though.

I'm running 13T with 2x3s packs 5 minutes of sport flying in idle1 with ambient temerature at 70* and I have no problem with touching the motor afterward. Of course I'm not doing any 3D. BTW, with the Outrage 2200mAh, I'm putting back in approximately 65-70% and with the Evo 2500mAh, approximately 60%.

Oh and its at mid timing. I noticed that it runs less hot today(much cooler) but it still gets a little hotter than I would like it to. Its touchable, but still hot.

Scott maybe you just have sensitive fingers. I have a temp gauge and would help you but I am lazy Scott. Doesn't Sean have a gauge?

Scott definitely has sensitive fingers. When I say it's ambient he says its like 130 degrees

No I don't have a temp gauge Mike. What time are you out at the field after work?

Sean, is your ambient temp like 110 degrees?

Sean, is your ambient temp like 110 degrees?

Well considering the outside temp was 100 I'd say I was pretty close.
