Mike, you have any vids of your flying?
you seem to be flying a lot and last time i saw you fly you were trying to learn inverted hovers (that was quite a while ago) :)

Ken I am doing well thanks for asking. Ken we should do a field trip up north and hook up with Tyler too. Maybe we can bring our guys and you two can meet in a reasonable half way point? Would like to meet you. I won't let others get me down.

I have some from today I think or at least one. I did an inverted hover today with my radio at 50 straight across. No let me rephrase... I flipped it losing a ton of altitude, knew something was wrong and tried an inverted hover just to make sure. lol Sean called it right off that it was my pitch curve. Then I went to spool back up but when I clicked thold I realized I was still in idle up. Stripped the gear that -6 motor did!

We had a great day of flying. Sean again was the center attraction with his amazing flying skills. It was a calm day very warm. I flew only 3 times and was only inverted 4 times briefly but the rust is coming off.

Scott also very nice control another quick and rising star.

Jason very nice control but needs a ton more stick time.

Martin needs batteries I think he is held back only by his budget.

Scott's mom was a trooper for sure and hung there for hours. Great person too got to talk to her a little awesome attitude about Scott's interest in helis.

Edit:
CF blades are toast. Well one CF blade is toast. Should have given it the bend test before I flew on it again. It's busted up good. Can't believe I didn't bend a main shaft?

Hi Guys,

My name is Alan and im from the san fernando valley and am a newbie getting into the hobby. I've been flying planes for about 3 years and have recently about 2 months ago made the jump to helicopters. I recently bought a used trex 450se and would like some help in setting it up and also gain some valuable experience from you all. i've watched Finless bob's videos and they've helped tremendously. I'd like to meet up with you guys and pick your brains when it comes to these things such as swash spacing, blade tracking/balancing, ccpm/tx setup etc.

Let's hope the weather turns out well this weekend!

Well I decided that CF blades are too expensive. I am just going to revert to woodies so I hope my Ikarus 10T pinion ships soon. I will just ground the Trex until I get the pinion which is back ordered.

I am going to have to go through the Sky Shark this week and get rid of all that subtrim plus figure out what I did to give it so much more negative then positive. Guess I have my work cut out for me. At least the Trex is dialed in.

Sorry you took so much damage today Jason. That usually doesn't happen bro don't let it get to you.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys... i have been reading diligently on the forum and have been watching some of finless bob's videos. I have also been practicing on the sim. Here is my current setup.

TREX 450 SE V1
v2 main gear
v2 main frames
true blood dampeners
carbon fiber boom
tail weight mod
carbon tail blades
rdlohr gyro mount

DX7 Spektrum TX
Ar6100 RX
Hitec HS65MG Servos
Align ESC and 430XL Brushless motor
Futaba GY401 Gyro
Futaba 9650 Digital tail servo
2x Thunder Power 3s 2100 Prolites
1 Vislero 3s 2100 Lipo

I am a complete n00b and am a little aprehensive about flying this heli as its my first real CCPM helicopter... i do have a Lama V4 coax that i've been messing around with for over a year. i am practicing hovering on the SIM (Real flight 3.5) but im sure it will be different with the trex.

Thanks again fellas, you all have been extremely helpful.

Alan it seems like you have researched well and you choose a lot of the things I would have. Definitely will help you. I need something to do while my packs are charging anyway. :)

Guys I am good for February 23rd and 24th. Don't let me hold you up this weekend though Martin organize something if you can. I will make brief appearance only to burn through my 6 packs then I am out. That's if I don't crash out this week for my 30 minutes of daylight lol...

Nice pictures by the way Martin.

Thanks! i would like someone to take it up for me to make sure all is well. Been contemplating on my pitch/throttle settings and havent even touched my idle settings. What would be the ideal setup for basic hovering in normal mode without any idle up settings.
