Sweet Jason those canopies look nice! I still like the red better though. If I have the energy I will bring the boards to the field today. For now I will just use nails.
Sean,
I think I am going to pass on going to the basin. For that gas money I can go to the little field once a day for the next 5 days and no waiting to fly. I have the next 5 days off I am going to try to burn a bunch of fuel.

Jason,
Here's what you need for your 450 to match those canopies!!!!

Yeah. But its taken care of. Funny thing is that whenever my heli is flying really good(I put the 9257 from the 500 on it) sean and I push it harder. But Sean did a low half piro flip into a tic-toc and the tail met the ground.

And the tail case ejected:shock:

I'm telling you Scott it's not because the tail met the ground and you know that. You saw the controls lock up
Mike, I won't be going to the basin anymore anyway. Jason Chow and I will just be flying in a park by his house.

It does kind of look like the point of failure was the ground but the cause I suppose is debatable. :P
We will be doing the early thing tomorrow morning. Gallon of fuel, nice cool morning and nitro only! :D

Just got back from the Basin and boy do I have a story to tell! On my last flight, I was just doing my regular low stuff, and I was flying over the dirt area. In the middle of a back flip, I dug the whole tail rotor into the ground. The headspeed totally dropped but I just punched it out and there was no damage. That is why I don't use a torque tube. ;) Then Bert went out and flew his 90 a little differently, doing incredible fast flying and it was a thrill to watch. He even asked if I wanted to fly it and I was like helllllll no. Overall it was a great day, it's a shame you guys didn't come out.

Sean,
I am with you on the belt. I only have one ship, at the moment, with a torque tube and I wish it had a belt!

You said you weren't gong to the Basin or Jason and I were going to go. Jason was for it but then I told him you changed plans so we went out and got dirt all over everything. I hate the wash man it makes for a monster clean up.
All in all we had a great morning of flying from just before 7am to 10am. I hooked up a bunch of tanks of fuel and my pinning the tail saved my TAIL today. The tail was cocked and resting against the pin. Moved it back in place and went back to flying.
On the brighter said I did more then one consecutive piro flip finally. Then I was just springing them in everywhere. My motor seems to be running great after the over-heat I did run it out of fuel again and had a little surprise auto from an odd orientation but all went great. I guess after my timer I didn't have time for a couple more little moves.
Jason is doing half piro flips like he was born to do them and he is doing them low and everything. Today he ended up tail almost to the ground, inverted left side-in with the main blades maaaaybe 6 inches from the dirt. He reflex saved it man it was an amazing save. Then he went on to damn crashing two more times but didn't. He stopped after the 3rd tank admiting he was just too cocky today.
Belts are for sissies..

We were talking about Jason Chow yesterday Jason V, David and I. That kid comes home from school, packs his heli up then you see him at Apollo. He goes boy am I rusty then walks out onto the field and puts on a jaw dropping show of finely honed 3D. Piro tic tocs 8' from his head, crazy low stuff, throwing the heli around like a rag doll. :noteworthy

I noticed this morning that we carry a 450 size nitro too. Jason was asking me about this so here is a link to the one we carry. Out of stock but I am sure we can get them.

Its alive! I have a 430l on it with a 15t pinion, 80 across its insane:YeaBaby:
I also put the 9257 on from my 500 on it. It is staying there(on my 450) LOL!

Nice Scott a 430L though? It has enough power to push a 15T?

07-10-2008, 12:15 AM
Yup, gets hot, but it was like that on a 13t. 80% is perfect for it:shock:
My neu went bad(the bottom of the can is deformed and the bearing is on an angle on the shaft)

Scott you should not run that 430l on 15t.
