View Full Version : AR7000 odd behavior on Power Up

I have a DX7 with AR7000 installed in a stock 450 SE V2. On power up, I sometimes see the remote receiver light on solid while the AR7000 light is flashing as if it is not bound to the transmitter. I get this behavior as soon as I connect the battery at odd times. Durning this condition, I have no control over the heli. The receiver is dead.

I never have had a drop out after the heli powers up properly.

The recovery is to unplug the battery, turn off the radio, turn it back on, reconnect the battery half a dozen times and eventually, it powers up normally. I have tried to find a procedure that works every time but I cannot. I have tried to pin it down on a particular switch configuration but I cannot. I have rebound the transmitter at least three times but the problems still occurs.

Has anyone seen this problem and if so, what was the solution or what else should I check. It seems to be a random. I do not have an on/off switch on the receiver. I just power up the Align ESC which supplies power to the receiver. Is this OK?

Thanks for the help, my first heli - just starting to hover after 2 months on the sim.

Michael

Could be a bad AR7000. It could be that your Tx is too close.

Are you under any kind of canopy or next to your car? Large expanses of metal cause lots of multipath which can cause trouble with linking.

Are you in a high 2.4 RF area?

Pinecone,

Thank you for your input. I have followed your contributions on this forum and they are always helpful. You have several valid points which I will investigate when back from this business trip. I hope it is not a bad receiver.

Mike
